btw, is dell monitor bang for bucks?
*
Dell's monitors are well built and produce great image and color. At least this applies to their UltraSharp series.

It depends on what you're willing to spend, bro. For the class and quality you get, they are considered quite affordable for most. smile.gif

i'm considering dell st2410 at the moment...  smile.gif
u2211h also got my attention, but it lacks of hdmi and 8ms response time (which is slow for watching movie as stated by some forumer)...  blush.gif
between samsung b2430h and dell st2410, which wud be a better choice? both is 24inch rite, not 23.6?  hmm.gif
btw, is there any shop where i can get st2410 cash n carry?
*
About a shop that has cash and carry for Dell products, I don't think so. Unless you find an authorized dealer on Lowyat, you're out of luck. wink.gif

Not too sure about the Samsung B2430H and Dell ST2410 but I'm sure both would make good monitors. Bear in mind that the Samsung is a 23.6" though.

so, here the st2410 is pure 24inch rite? if like that the dell wud be a little bit cheaper... tongue.gif
*
Yep, Dell's ST2410 is a true 24" monitor.

QUOTE(captvizcenzo @ May 18 2010, 02:29 AM)
btw, is that true dell will fetch our old monitor and send a new one in case shits happens that requires RMA?  hmm.gif
*
I suppose it would depend on the problem your monitor is having. The more severe, the more likely it would be replaced?

You should give Dell a call for more info on their warranty. smile.gif

I just received the Dell U2410 by post. Gonna test it out, hopefully calibrate it by tonight, then write a review on it in the next few days. smile.gif

So far so good although I'm not 100% impressed.

How much you got it for and how long is the warranty service for your unit?

Iinm, the u2410 and u2711 is the best IPS panel offered by Dell. Tried 30" but still think the u2711 is better~
*
I got a refurbished set so the warranty only lasts for 3 days. I got it for around RM 12xx.

I'm gonna hook up another monitor to do some comparisons now. I just calibrated it and the colors seem accurate enough. Overall I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase. smile.gif

Do you own an UltraSharp panel yourself, gto87? smile.gif

If everything goes well, I'm getting one next month, tempted after testing the u2711 at my brother's place. He has both 3008WFP and U2711, the colors are better in u2711 but I really love the 30" for it's size. tongue.gif~

So how was your 24" bro~ Are you impressed with it now?
*
Yeah. I'm very impressed with the colors and the quality of the monitor. One of my best purchases so far. biggrin.gif

It's a decent monitor. The glossy screen might serve you well when it comes to movies. Just make sure it's not sitting directly in front of sunlight. wink.gif

Sigh. Well, a little too late to cry now. But looking at the bright side, at least I saved RM 349 (bought a refurbished unit). biggrin.gif

Get the same model from dell brand new (with other rerurb. units) for multiple monitors... The 3 year warranty can be in-a-way (not morally right) be applicable to the 3 day warrant monitor(s) as well. You are not encourage to do so, though...
*
Is it? Cause I thought every unit had a unique service tag or S/N. Correct me if I'm wrong. smile.gif

Hi everyone, I quite interested to purchase a Dell U2311H, but i have 1 question here. I usually will use monitor to watch movie and sometime games, will it have 'ghosting' problem for this monitor due to it's 8ms respond time?
Hope every sifu here can advice me.
*
Normally monitors with 6ms response time or higher are generally not so good for gaming. I'm sure you know this is due to ghosting. That is why most gamers (or at least serious gamers) stick to TN panels due to their low response time. But personally as a gamer, I don't mind the higher response time. In fact I don't even notice it. It's all about preference really.

I say go for it. An IPS at RM 649? It's basically a steal. cry.gif

go where to set it ya?

i using msi n210.

i connect my 2 lcd monitor to vga n dvi port..

but only 1 show up..

wat happen ya??
*
If you're using W7, right-click on your desktop, go to 'personalize', 'display', then 'change display settings'. Make sure Windows recognizes that 2 monitors are plugged in.

If you're on Windows XP, right-click on your desktop, go to 'properties', then 'display'. Your two monitors should show up there.

I received my U2311H, there are slight backlight bleed at the top left corner. Kinda disappointed because when I purchase my 2209WA last year, it was almost perfect - no backlight bleed, quality control was top notch.

It's all about saving the cost. tongue.gif

Anyway, how are the viewing angles on your U2311H?

i'm not so into this graphic/video line.. neither i have alot of photos to show to people... is IPS important for me? basically it is just me that looking at the screen
*
Not really. You'll be satisfied with a TN panel, unless you really care about colors and image quality. Coming from a TN user to a U2410, it's not much difference if you're using it for browsing, playing games, etc. If you're watching HD movies, doing graphics designing, viewing a lot of hi-def pictures, then it's a different story. But if you have the money, then by all means. wink.gif
