It's a decent monitor. The glossy screen might serve you well when it comes to movies. Just make sure it's not sitting directly in front of sunlight. wink.gif

guys, need advice..... hp 2309m is it good? for gaming n watch movies.

The monitor is quite good. although a little glossy but the image is sharp. I play games a lot of games and the image is excellent. plus it has HDMI connectivity. although got built in speaker, you better off with a standalone one.

Coupon for U2410 (RM200 off), U2311H (RM70) and U2211H (RM40) under Electronic Deals. Doesn't really work for U2311H though as it removes the Instant Cash Redemption but it's working when i tried on U2211H.

Sigh. Well, a little too late to cry now. But looking at the bright side, at least I saved RM 349 (bought a refurbished unit). biggrin.gif

Yep. smile.gif

Cheap but no guarantee after the 3-days personal warranty. It's risky. smile.gif

Been interested in this monitor too.

Only review so far that I've found on the net.
http://www.htmlvalidator.com/CSEForum/view...c.php?f=6&t=921

Pictures look alright but still not sure about the image quality.

Question for you guys:

I'm coming from dual 2007WFP (S-IPS) panels (1 portrait, 1 landscape) and before that I never really noticed any ghosting or even any defects while watching Blu-Ray 720p rips or even playing games, as apparently those days the S-IPS were reported to be around 16ms GtG?

1. So, would I see an increased performance by selling both of these and upgrading to a 2xU2311H instead?

2. Would the eIPS lose out to the S-IPS in terms of IQ, clarity, text sharpness, etc?

Thanks for the honest answers.

Edit: Should I basically estimate that the performance of the U2311H should be similiar to the 2209WA as they both seem to be using the same lot of eIPS panels?
So whatever applies to the 2209WA reviews should generally be the same for the U2311H (assuming that the U2311H is slightly better)?

Get the same model from dell brand new (with other rerurb. units) for multiple monitors... The 3 year warranty can be in-a-way (not morally right) be applicable to the 3 day warrant monitor(s) as well. You are not encourage to do so, though...

Is it? Cause I thought every unit had a unique service tag or S/N. Correct me if I'm wrong. smile.gif

I don't think that's a good way plus every monitor has its own serial number, Dell technician probably overlook but if they noticed, it might cause unthinkable situation, better play safe nod.gif
If you have friend (technician) working inside... probably will works brows.gif

U2311H review:
Had look through the brief review of the panel, looks great (in a distance) and the black can be considered better than the 30" (Is that a TN or IPS?)
But still no backlight bleeding test or any other much detail graphics quality test, was hoping the graphics would look more natural to please everyone's eye sweat.gif
Edit:
Just notice it's already been calibrated with tool, so I won't say this is good out from the box, are those calibration different from other monitors (same manufacturing date)? Probably can get his calibration and input to newly purchase so I won't need to spend $ on the calibration tool.

That definitely is a 2x30" 2560x1600 Dell S-IPS setup with the 2xU2311H also.. so I'm still wondering whether it's worth it to sell of my current dual setup and get the newer U231H dual setup.

*Most important is backlight bleeding + black levels + image quality. Ghosting or high speed panels doesn't really bother me that much (to an acceptable degree)

Hi everyone, I quite interested to purchase a Dell U2311H, but i have 1 question here. I usually will use monitor to watch movie and sometime games, will it have 'ghosting' problem for this monitor due to it's 8ms respond time?
Hope every sifu here can advice me.

Everyone (well, almost) is waiting for the depth review of that unit, since there's no in depth review, I can only assume it's good by picture impression, no hard data to actually convince most of us.
Be patient a bit and probably we'll have more reviewers provide us with lots of detail. (Well I drool.gif till sore throat already waiting for this... yawn.gif )
