U2211H & U2311H power consumption is just great at 30+ watt
waiting for review, wonder who will get first tongue.gif
*
Yeah hmm.gif still searching for review, maybe in another 2 weeks.
Need to know why the response rate is 8ms, and need to know if this will affect movie watching!!!!!
Currently my 2333SW really disappoint me, obvious ghosting when the movie scrolls or having fast pace action.
But the weird thing is... I didn't notice this during high-pace game-play hmm.gif

most IPS panels dont have response times as fast as TN panels. and most people can barely tell the difference from 8ms to 2ms. anything 8ms and below is fine.

i used to switch from 8ms in the office to 2ms at home for gaming with no difference noticed. now i switch from 8ms in the office to 5ms at home for gaming and also no difference noticed.

but for gaming only la...i dont watch movies on my rig at home...i use my htpc for that.
imho, movie watching...get a plasma brows.gif
*
LOL, if I can only afford a plasma, my choice of purchasing 2333SW (in a very short time + tight budget) is pure regret, so if this 8ms can really cope with my movie watching habit, I'll save it all up for it.
Still, it'll depends on me whether I can really differentiate it even after some suggestion and recommendation, don't have any Dell sample demo anywhere locally... sad.gif

Just gotten my Dell 2709WFP, replacing my Samsung 226BW, calibrating the colour is quite hassle to match my 226BW, important as I do photo editing for my client in wedding photography.

But the LCD itself is huge, very nice I'd say smile.gif

Dell still have this model? I thought they already change to U2711?
Did you bought before they change the model?
Is it the very same specification?? hmm.gif

What other brands in the market that has height adjustable stand other than Dell, and also with the ability to put it vertically?

HP, Samsung also has it, it's just darn hard to find locally, Dell offer it cheaper.
There're plenty of brands out there, just need to search really hard, but Dell still kick them hard with value/performance. thumbup.gif

Just search throught tons of review regarding all brands of IPS monitor, and gosh... hp zr24w beats Dell U2410 on some area.
Now I'm not into some serious professional graphics, just need some good bleed-less panel, better color/contrast, less ghosting to enjoy my Anime to the fullest, of course gaming as well.

*Drops in confusion* rclxub.gif

i think for anime, the colours don't need to be very accurate and I doubt that there will be any ghosting issues~ the movements may be too slow for ghosting to be noticeable, if any~
*
Oh.. I'm serious when I'm into Anime, those good anime does has all those nice eye candy graphical details, not some cheapo Doraemon, Anime like GITS 1080p, and all the recent BR-Rip Anime is almost as good as Live Action movie (in terms of graphics).
Well, I might be someone that just has higher taste of graphics when into something I like, hopefully my next monitor purchase won't dissappoint me like my hasty 2333SW cry.gif
At least my previous 930BW is much more brilliant in terms of brightness and response (2ms GTG)... ok, not enough to beat any IPS blush.gif

i want to buy a monitor..mainly for gaming and movies...
have my eyes on two models, Samsung XL2370 and Samsung P2770H...
do 27inch too big and 23 inch is enough for pc gaming or the bigger the better?

or any suggestion?budget below1.5k..
*
This... cannot say bigger better, because both are still the same 1080p, 27" simply has bigger dots.
If you do put your monitor quite far away, then it's ok to say 27" is a good, you got a better look at distance.
But if it's like 3 feet (1 meter) or lower, it's better to take smaller size as will not bend your neck or adjust your eye frequently to look at sides.

And, since XL2370 is new model and also receive good review, it's a good buy, for personal use wink.gif some more it's GREEN icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi Guys,

I'm planning to get 27" SAMSUNG P2770, but I'm wondering whether it would be too big as a monitor, would the ratiation from the monitor have any affect if I sit too near to the LCD.

Can you guys advice.
*
Radiation? I don't think so, because it's using CCFL, just sitting too near might not be too comfortable, bigger screen is for distance (1.5 meters+).
Consider XL2370, if you going to sit less than a meter away from the monitor.

For me, I'm using 23", sitting ~1 meter away for movie and gaming, it's best cause I can see the whole screen without moving my eyeball and neck much.

Now I'm in dilemma whether I should buy 27" monitor or not. I'm currently using a 19" monitor and i think new graphic cards will be slightly under utilized if it's used on a 19" monitor..  sad.gif
*
What's the new graphic card? HD5870? HD5970? GTX480?
If you play Crysis, single card nowadays still over utilize even on 19" (1440x900, 1280x1024), yes ultra quality + AAs shakehead.gif
Afraid of under utilize? Just pump up the AA and you can fully utilize the power of a graphic card. wink.gif

But, of course if you get 21.5" or 23" nowadays can enjoy full HD gaming + movies thumbup.gif

The only need is RM10 to 15 (or free if you have some lying around/comes with GC) for a DVI to HDMI adapter....
*
Erm, there's no HDMI port, so basically it's not a common port that non-PC component can connect AFAIK (as far as I know).
However you can actually connect using DVI to Display Port adapter or HDMI to Display Port adapter, which I think can be bought around the price that you stated.
The only thing that some people might not like is since Display Port or DVI doesn't carry sound, you need to hook up your sound system to your own component directly (i.e. PS3, XBOX, etc.).

i like big monitor LCD 27inch Samsung P2770H i watched youtube i saw 5ms why
i looking 27inch LCD monitor good Color and 2ms and 16:9 and usage PC+Gaming+Full HD Movies 1080P most color good
please dont ask my budget i can buy expensive too
*
According to Samsung and other e-tailer, the specifications does state that the response of GTG is 2ms, 5ms probably refer to BTB (Black to Black, or On-Off-On).
If you're looking at fast response, you'll sacrifice colors, it'll be the same for all TN panels.

(Untrusted? Click this to see the actual URL >> http://preview.tinyurl.com/2bgdha3 )

This is newegg's 27" monitor product sorted by ratings.
Asus ranked first... should you get Asus? Well, read the customer reviews before you decide on one.

Want great colors, you probably looking at IPS, which is not just expensive, but you sacrifice the response that you wanted.

One note, manufacturer specifications might not always correct, my 5ms 2333SW ran through a response rate test and guess what? 16ms as a result, so a 2ms might not be always the case for LCD panel. Good luck with your purchase.

Wrong... DP is not compatible to DVI/HDMI signal.... however some DP ports on GCs allow a DVI/HDMI pass-through signal there for you can use a passive DP to DVI/HDMI adapter. A native DP on GC like on all(most) ati/amd 5870 cannot use the passive adapter, the digital signals are simply not compatible.

As it has been mentioned many times.
HDMI (1.2) = DVI + digital audio. ..... Not many GC or Displays implement HDMI 1.3 fully.

p.s. DP can carry audio too....
*
doh.gif LOL.. assumption base on image, cause saw no audio output from U2311H.
Darn, just wiki-ed tongue.gif
So there's always an active adapter to get the job done, is that correct?
I have seen DP to D-Sub VGA, DP to DVI (not sure if it's -D), but haven see any DVI to DP (GC's DVI to Monitor's DP). hmm.gif

Will we see DP vs HDMI like Blu-Ray vs HD-DVD?? Or is it already happening? sweat.gif

IPS panel is meant for colors and gamut, bla bla bla... wiki link below explains it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TFT_LCD#In-pl...ching_.28IPS.29
And the advantage of the IPS is wide angle, means you can view even from sideways with no dimmed colors.

If you look at the links, the Asus's accessories does provide converter from your DVI to the HDMI. Or, you can have a look at other models.
If you want some panel that has plenty of ports, why not try LCD TV? since your budget is limitless. Branded LCD TV might has more than 2 HDMIs, 2 DVIs, 1 VGA, etc... etc.

my budget not limited too
why i dont want LCD TV Because if PC connect DVI Screen Resolution 1920x1080 wont work LCD TV that problem
most LCD TV Resolution i think 1360x720 like this sigh
so i prefer LCD Monitor
*
Sony LCD TV already has Full HD (1080p) from 32", just size is a matter if you have limited amount of space. Need to sit further away if you have bigger screen.
Look for TV that has Full HD instead of HD Ready ONLY.
