Due to moving, I also want to sell my Dell UltraSharp 2007FP, really like it. How does it compare to current e-IPS monitor from Dell...PQ wise ?
Don't know about you, but when I switched from the older S-IPS (2007WFP) to the current e-IPS (Dell U2311H), I was blown away, feels like going from TN to IPS all over again!
So, to me it's definitely worth it... S-IPS is nice for those who have never enjoyed IPS before.. but going to E-IPS was a real treat from an S-IPS user. To me, the colors were nicer and text quality was sharper.. maybe it was due to Windows7 but pictures generally look great.. i'd dare say a guesstimate of around 10-20% better than my old S-IPS.
Moving from a Dell U2311H (eIPS) to a Dell U2410 (H-IPS) didn't yield that WOW moment for me anymore.
IMO, the eIPS are capable screens and truly worth it at this price point.
In a nutshell, if you belong to any one of the following:
1. I'm afraid of bleeding at the corners and it's so bad
2. I'm afraid of getting tinting issues on my monitor
3. I need to game, 8ms is too much response time for me, I'm scared I'm too professional to notice the ghosting/lagging effects on my IPS panel
4. I don't even know that the swivel/tilt/pivot/height function on the Dell Ultrasharp series monitors is important, come on it's a stand right? What's so special? I'd rather have my static stand monitor any day!
Just get another monitor. The Dell is not for you. However, on the other hand - you realize that you are paying for:
1. Premium Panel Guarantee
2. Adjustable ergonomic monitor stand so that the monitor fits you and you do not have to adjust your head to use the monitor
3. Care for better colour accuracy and a better panel overall
4. Great industrial design with a non-glossy screen
Time for some Dell Ultrasharps! However, given those comments, I would have been rather fond if Dell did the following for the U2311H:
1. Stop manufacturing 16:9 format screens, people have LCD TVs to watch TV shows. Not a monitor.
PS: All those above are of my personal opinions, if you didn't like that, there's no need to start a flame war.
