Added on July 30, 2010, 3:32 amI noticed there are some color temperature problem with U2311H.

On the left hand side of the screen, it seems colder and on the right hand side it is warmer. Thus, when viewing white background, left hand side is bluish and right hand side is yellowish.

Any users experiencing that?

I think that is the older version of Dell UltraSharp Monitor base on the stand design.

That easy....size, the LCD TVs...... for resolution the 30inchers (2560x1600).... there are larger sizes or/and resolutions but not readily available in MAL.

Actually for largest seamless displays.. 3 or more LCD projectors with AMD/ATI Eyefinity... you can exceed some displays in cinemas, even the highest res. ones in Malaysia... 6 x 1080p projectors in cine-scope arrangement...

Sorry, I'll amend my question... it is actually

What's the largest LCD/LED Monitor I can get in Malaysia. And why don't people use HDTV for gamin? Is resolution the reason behind this?

QUOTE(freeman85 @ Jul 31 2010, 11:17 AM)
the bigger resolution on the lcd u get the more gfx power u need.
it going to be struggle to play new game on bigger screen later smile.gif
so keep it at full HD res  icon_rolleyes.gif 24 inch more than enough for gaming smile.gif

I planned on getting another HD 5850 and crossfire. So I think it's an overkill for a 23' monitor, I guess.. From what I saw, 27' is the largest available monitor now in Malaysia?

There is also 30" LCD from Dell Malaysia.

Oh really? That would be great then. I try to call them on Monday and see how it works. BTW, do you have any links show the exchange TnC?

If your problem is not serious, you can just keep it. I always use the monitor for lightroom and PS, so this issue is a big no-no for me. If like that I get TN panel better sweat.gif , at least the color is uniform across the screen.

My screen's color is like divided by a diagonal line, upper left and lower right were totally two different tone. Pretty sure it is pink tint over the lower right screen. wink.gif Gotta live for few more days with this LCD yawn.gif

Your question is still kind of vague, largest as is size?.. 1080p (1920x1080, 2 Million Pixels) resolution monitors/TV goes from 17" to 100", the largest for a PC specific monitor with a 1080p panel, I believe is a 26.5". The Dell 27" has a resolution of 2560 x 1440, it'll will need to be connected by DL-DVI or DP. For a single monitor display.. a 30 incher 2560x1600 res. (4 Million pixels) would be the largest/highest res. (easily available in Mal.). A single high-end card should handle that res. fine, crossfire and it'll be even better....

Gaming with 1080p HDTV and 1080p 23/24" LCD is the same in a sense (dis-regarding the panel quality & cost)... it just the space constrains that you have, distance you'll be comfortable, and you eyesight. The TV being big can serve a greater number of audience. If it's just yourself, the experience will/should not be any different (it will tax your PC & GC resource the same, as it's the same res.). And people use HDTV for gaming, be it Wii, PS3, X-box 360 or PC...

However 3 cheap 1080p panels in Eyefinity is far cheaper, have much greater resolution (6.2 Million pixels) than a single 30incher and have a greater gaming experience for games that support it. The only down side are the boarders between the displays (hence the multiple projectors option, expensive but big & seamless)

Great info there my friend. Apologies for the vaguely asked question. My initial question is pointed towards the physical viewable size of the monitor screen. I checked the price of the 30' monitor (Dell UltraSharpTM 3008WFP) and the price is insane rclxub.gif around RM4k. With RM4k, I can easily get 3x 23' screens for eyefinity.

However, I've finally witness Eyefinity in action LIVE via WCG midvalley. And frankly I'm not impressed, the whole picture looked....distorted and as I tried L4D2 on this setup, I soon noticed those extra 2 screens (L & R) are more of a hindrance to me. Maybe I'm just not used to it but as me myself as a FPS gamer FOV is important and I just don't think I will be comfortable playin with multiple screens. Oh and borders are major turn off too..

I actually went searching for the multiple Projectors setup that you mentioned. And damn, this looks epic! This is the experience that I actually want, for both movies and gaming. And I found this. wub.gif

Not sure how much will this cost (maybe even more than a 30') cry.gif
