QUOTE(EyraYus @ Jul 21 2010, 08:25 PM) having a problem with my Samsung B2330. Screen flickering. I think its the button problem coz I cant use any of it. only the on off button is working. iirc there is highpoint service center that act as middle man for warranty for a lot of brandsdamn it, even it still 3 month old already causing problem. should stay away from Samsung monitor at all cost, my last monitor (Samsung) died after 1 and half year. any other warranty option other then the weirdly located service centre along federal highway? it located at time square |

QUOTE(everling @ Jul 23 2010, 12:45 AM) When buying from Dell's business section, there's an "Invoice Title" field. For those who are freelancing from home, what can we put in this field? i just put dell u2311h lcd @CyberSundayz i get it from dasoulz and also google it here http://kualalumpurcity.olx.com.my/dell-u23...or-iid-99007584 i wonder how long one must wait for second email come from dell regarding the order ? |

QUOTE(dauf87 @ Jul 23 2010, 08:16 PM) just after the order acknowledgement email, i got the 2nd email (subj: We're almost there.. ) >_<then direct deposit the money, the next day i received the 3rd email about confirmation of my order.. and together with it stated the estimated delivery date for ur monitor.. second email almost instant i'm still waiting for it using visa debit card maybank <---not sure if this the fault of slowing down the process it seem from V3nz experience with debit card it will probably take long time for me to confirm the payment also and take long time for me to receive the lcd This post has been edited by freeman85: Jul 23 2010, 08:54 PM |

QUOTE(iZZiDeltA @ Jul 25 2010, 12:02 AM) wa, the LCD thread like turning into Dell U2311h thread. =.= Selling like hot cake now. oo nice modelFrom my research, U2311 has matte finish. My personal preferences is to get a glossy display LCD. Because i feel glossy LCD is more vibrant and the screen look 'smoother'. So i come across this Acer s231hl which is also 23" with glossy finish. I know with extra Rm80 i can get Dell IPS panel but in matte finish. I know even the acer is glossy finish, but dell is IPS panel, so the color will be more accurate than the acer 1, even it is matte, am i right? So i like to hear professional opinion on which model u suggest me to get? #Dell u2311h @ Rm680 or #Acer s231hl @rm590 Or there is any other LCD which has more attractive offer for budget of RM600-Rm700 right now? Thanks for input. acer got led backlit so i think power consumption will be less (not sure but based on acer website Power Consumption * Energy Star On: 28.2W, Off: 0.51W, Standby: 0.62W ) also got hdmi so u can connect consoles to it but it doesnt have wide viewing angle as dell u2311h and the color will be more accurate than the acer since it based on IPS (doesnt matter if it matte finish or not ) do correct me if i'm wrong in this and then again to each his own i prefer u2311h so i can use display port on my gfx gaming pc vga for laptop/netbook and dvi for other pc than i need to repair and i also like the usb port and not to mention the advanced exchange warranty This post has been edited by freeman85: Jul 25 2010, 01:32 AM |

QUOTE(iZZiDeltA @ Jul 25 2010, 12:02 PM) Can you tell me more on the displayport thing? hereFrom net it says it is great for ATI 5000 series, which also mean it is great for me. But do we need any special cable/connector to use this port? Does it come with the LCD itself? Why dont we use the VGA/DVI instead? Is it a replacement for HDMI which is missing in this LCD? Or is it solely for Eyefinity? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DisplayPort and here some picture http://www.google.com.my/imglanding?q=disp...vesPeNM&start=1 u need special cable to use displayport..and it doesnt come with lcd i planning to use it since i'm planning to get gfx with displayport replacing my current hd4850 iirc correctly new nvida fermi also got display port on some model it not really replacement for hdmi merely a another port as a another standard for connectivity with tv/lcd and it does not use solely for Eyefinity hope other LCD sifu can better explain it |

QUOTE(5564321 @ Jul 25 2010, 04:10 PM) Also, Displayport cables are hard to find. I'm still prefer HDMI over Display port. Luckily my board could support HDMI and Displayport but HDMI cables are much cheaper. yea same here colour accuracy better here Actually you cant really save much $ by using LED. I still prefer color accuracy that IPS panel could give over the ordinary TN panel. BTW Dell U2311H does come with DVI-D cable right? not much difference on power consumption dell power consumption 33W (without audio and USB connection) Power Consumption Stand by / Sleep: Less than 1 W while acer power consumption (On: 28.2W, Off: 0.51W, Standby: 0.62W ) it did come with dvi cable |

QUOTE(Traveler @ Jul 27 2010, 10:49 AM) Indeed. As a result of all the positive things said about it in this thread and having read a couple reviews online, I had placed an order for 2 units. Dell must be getting a lot of orders since it took them 3 days to charge it to my credit card (my bank just called a few mins ago to verify the transaction), and the order hasn't even appeared on their order tracking system yet (nor have I received anything from Dell since the original order acknowledgement email). maybe we can make seperate topic for dell u2311h Plan to use both (1st with DVI, the 2nd with DP) with my Asus 23" widescreen (DVI) to make a 3-screen combo on a Radeon 5770, with the Asus shared with another rig (Radeon 5770 will connect via DVI while the 2nd rig via VGA or HDMI). it better that ways since we wont poison this topic with u2311h .. btw i called dell just now ..it seem that order tracking system down for now..so have to check with phone for that for now.. QUOTE(hydrogen @ Jul 29 2010, 11:47 AM) what advantage does the u2311h have over the st2410? u2311h using ips panel while st2410 using TN panelthe price difference is about rm100 right? for a smaller monitor? the only difference i seem to see is the mount and swivel. please advice. there is lot of difference ..better colour production.. better viewing angle.. just google ips vs tn panel .. |
