Hi, just want to check if we are allowed to bring in foldable bicycle into MRT during the Weekdays Peak Hours (6am - 9:30am)? I read that during the trial in 2008, we can only bring in after the peak hours. I would really like to get one bike. Remove the hassle of waiting for buses.

QUOTE(shanelai @ Jun 9 2010, 08:58 PM) So nothing much we can do if the landlord going to do something on us?? The only avenue you now can fall back on is your tenancy agreement, whatever you can claim or safeguard your interest. I'm having similar problems now that the landlord has gone berserk and has been very abusive. I can't divulge much info now since I have intention to play hard ball with the landlord. It can be very stressful because you are a foreigner. But you have got to stick to your guns and know your rights.

Yeah I think there is a point to it. Oh well, back to the good ol method of walking. Maybe I will get a second hand bike that can get me from the Flat to the station. Also what time will the train start to be pack like Sardin? 6:45am still okay? Hehehe.. I will be starting work in SG next week. This post has been edited by L7Awesome: Jun 10 2010, 11:52 AM

Just gone through the SMRT website. It seems that the bike can be brought into the train after 9:30am. I guess from 6am to 9:30am it's a no-no. So I think I will just need to start walking to the station earlier. BTW, anyone staying in Hougang? Singapore malay earn my respect and i even treat them better than chinese as i admire the way they are able to survive here and i have not encounter any mat rempit type malay in Singapore b4. back to your question, you can try sengkang/punggol/serangoon area. with circle line open now. it is very easy to go to ur office now. just alight at macpherson station and walk there. FYI, my aunty works there as well.

Hey guys, i'm soon to graduate from acca. Planning to move to sg to work right after results are out which is around feb next year.
Is is tough to get a job in the Big4 firms, especially when I'm not a citizen of sg?
One last question, after reading the FP, I'm still a little confuse as to having to stay in sg for some time and look for jobs in the newspapers in sg itself. Can we just apply for a job in sg from malaysia? Once they call in for interview, I would just go over and if they accept me, I'll start planning for accomodation, etc.
Hope to hear some advices from you guys. Thanks.

Unless rain then no choice. i have though of this before. not feasible as taking a bike is not as economical as you though. if u add the monthly parking, petrol, ERP (assume if u don't need to pay) and maintenance, its still more expensive than taking MRT it self. not to mention when rainy days, then problem. I have considered getting myself a 500-1000cc bike so that i can travel back to KL with it. after much consideration, still MRT is a better choice.

Will never consider a bike. If you suck at riding, you die. If other drivers suck at driving, also you die. Even the smallest accident is a painful and bloody affair, no matter what.
