All sifus, need some opinion here.
What is the salary for a 1 yr experienced QS there?
Currently I got 1 job offer here RM2500, as site QS.
But I am thinking to further my career in Singapore.

Yesterday there is an agent called me, offering $2200, but its kind of tiles supplier - Polybuilding. Anyone heard this before?

Should I take it or keep waiting for another job offer? Since I am no really into supplier line, looking for developer, main-con or consultant company. I am planning to take it as a temporary job, just to set my feet in Singapore, than look for what I want. But is there any harm if I change job in few months time? I mean for my permit or whatsoever, does it affect anythg?!

Please Comment, Thanks!

2200 means S-Pass permit, might be more troublesome than those holding E-Pass.

what you mean by 'troublesome'? mind to elaborate?
Btw, the MOM self-assessment result showing I am capable to get both E-pass ans S-pass, how reliable is that test?

Why is S Pass more troublesome than E Pass?

Hello peeps,

I have intentions to rent a 2+1 HDB. I'm looking for someone to take the common room while I'll be staying in the master with my gf. If anyone of you interested with the above arrangement please PM me as we can hunt for a place together.

The advantages of renting the whole place:
-freedom
-able to cook
-possibility cheaper rent

mind to elaborate more?? i dun find it troublesome holding an S-Pass. its just that i can't apply dependent pass for my family members. who cares anyway, i believe that most of us are in our 20s and we come down to SG alone. so S-Pass or E-Pass makes no different.

I think S Pass got somesort quota within a company so they have to play balancing act, whilst E Pass no such limit. Correct me if wrong.

IIRC, for S-pass:

1. Longer period before can apply PR (3-5 years?)
2. <SGD2500 = cannot apply dependant pass (no a big deal for most of us)
3. Quota and foreign worker levy (now $50, will increase later this year) -> your boss pay, but usually comes from your salary

Haha, i'm actually more for andriod based phones myself but i'm also up for the iphone 4 depending on what hardware specs and OS 4.

Im waiting for the iphone 4 to come out then decide whether to get the iphone 4 or the HTC desire.

If it was a year ago I would say definitely go for iPhone OS. The variety of apps and the smoothness of the phone is top notch.

Now with Android fast catching up, things are less clear. The Snapdragon processors brings the platform up to par with iPhone's speed, although overall, the UI on Apple still feels smoother, less lag, than Android (I guess thats the price you pay for open source which is supposed to run on a wide range of hardware configurations, vs Apple's locked down ecosystem where everything is tweaked to perfection).

Personally I would wait another year to see if Android apps can catch up to the quality of the iPhone. As is stands, Market is a complete crapshot so the App Store is still more advantageous for developers. But more and more 'popular' apps have found their way to Market.

Rumors are the A4 will be the brains of iPhone 4..if true, that's one juicy and power-frugal chip! Specs wise, it will probably beat the Desire. After all in the world of consumer electronics, the latest usually ends up being the greatest for the duration that it remains the latest.

good good coz i am in the English team and also tech support. majority is filipino. wanted to join the mandarin team last time, but i fail big time coz my mandarin sux. so if more forumer joining, then we can help each other and also can know those leng lui from other department brows.gif . I know online sales got a lot chinese leng lui. but they are at another hall. Tech support and CR sits on the same hall. but Sales and after sales at another hall. hardly see them then cannot go buaya. hehe

PS : its hard to find people that can speak cantonese in Singapore. somehow i find those who can speak cantonese very attractive even they are not pretty tongue.gif izzit because i homesick?
