I will most probably be going to Singapore by next month. Anybody got contact for nice cheap single room (or, who wants to share room with me)? Looking around West or North area.

not entirely true. there's a lot of nice food in Sg, you just have to know where to look. Normally on my off day i'll drive around looking for nice food.

You are looking for a room too? maybe we can team up.

Depends on landlord...last time my landlord is kind enough to only take my 1st month rental. I told him its my first job in Singapore and he said its okay, the 1 mth deposit i can pay to him next month after I get my first paycheck. I guess you can check with your landlord b4 signing agreement.

ur chances are 0%. even the place i staying is my best friends aunty house, still need to pay 1 month advance and 1 month deposit. thats the normal law. its consider good that they did not ask for 2 months deposit instead.

I'm still pondering on the possibility of staying in JB and commuting daily at least for the first month coz i dun really have that much money to begin with. Goodluck with your room hunt! The websites shown at the first page is really helpful. I actually found some places at Eunos area. Might be staying there once JB becomes unbearable. LOL.

its very hard to find rooms without agent...they are swamping most of the sites with their ads, which are sometimes pointless and advertise other irrelevant properties as well.

Nice to hear directly from somebody that actually does it. Please share your experience with me. If your not comfortable here then at least PM me. Would like to know the details on how to get about this.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've googled it. So that place is near the second link. I'm actually working further below at Eunos area but that doesn't matter because I think getting across to Singapore is the real problem. Once I'm in should be a breeze to reach my destination.

So how do you travel? Car, bike or public transport? I would like to bring my bike(just a cheap modenas) in since that is the only vehicle I have. What do you think of that and if that is plausible, how do I get around doing it. I read that I need to get an AutoPass. There was something about the insurance. Is the normal insurance I get with the road tax enough?

I would strongly suggest if u were going to travel by bike, take 2nd Link instead of causeway. 2nd Link is much more breeze and less jam compare to causeway.

I travel by bus, from Gelang Patah to Jurong East MRT. It takes about 30-40 minutes.

depends. I will work here as long as i got a job here. Will only go back to Malaysia if Singapore dun want me anymore.
after retirement might consider to go back to Malaysia since its cheaper to live there.
another reason that will make me come back will be the day that all race will be treated equally. biggrin.gif

Even another party rules the country, still have the bumi thing which cannot be abolish. So like u said, most probably i won't go back if Singapore willing to offer me a PR or my company doesn't retrench me. smile.gif saying that is just to make myself look more "cham" in the eyes of Singaporean that we are discriminated there and we like you coz u don't discriminate us and we will loyal to you tongue.gif
