Haha...damn a lot of new rigs going to sembcorp lately.

Seems like many people go back to KL often hor? Should start a carpool club edi =P

Anybody went to Sitex this weekend? Crazy jam people. Deals are ok ok only. Most of the ppl there target herd mentality, see other ppl buy then sendiri must buy also.

Donno if i should be kicking myself since i got myself an acer monitor, the brochure price was 299 but i got it for 259 on saturday.

Main credits or Happy 128 credits? Main credits can last up to 6 months and will be deducted if you are connected to internet via your phone/do roaming. Happy 128 credits expire after 50 days but i doubt you can finish the local credits. Yep they won't give you reminder in topping up you gotta check via *113#.

I think all are pretty much similar. I'm using StarHub and so far so good. I purchase main credits (for online and roaming) and Happy 128 credits (for local and IDD calls). They give a lot of free local and global SMS (only valid on the same day) once you reach a certain quota of the day. Not sure about the rest but i heard that SingTel doesn't allow prepaid users to go online, i could be wrong though.

There are people who can get away with worse things. How about an unsafe work environment as shown below.

As you can see, the middle part of this workshops roof has collapsed. But that doesnt stop the guy in this picture going in.

You can even check this building out using google street view.

Thats karma and i dont really believe in it.

Coz i know personally some people who screw people and their staff for years and its a cruel joke they only get their divine punishment at the end since they can effectively screw countless people without feeling that they have done wrong.

Your not working for sembawang shipyard are you?

I heard from the transocean that sembawang shipyard charges them a ridiculous amount of money for services rendered to them, not to mention the docking charges.

Its way cheaper for them to hire the necessary people themselves and do it in malaysia. Oddly enough, its cheaper to hire a fitter and a welder to fly from the US to do the job rather then an indian or bangla worker employed by the singaporean shipyard.

Together with Keppel, these two companies are well known in the world of rig construction.

Nah, what malaysia should follow is singapores model whereby they have the facilities to do everything. Except at a rather high price for cheap manual labour.

One of transoceans ship is doing the rest of their retrofitting in malaysia after doing the major work singapore since its getting more expensive since sembawang overcharges them for services rendered when it can be way cheaper to hire contractors directly rather then go through sembawang shipyard and pay their shipyard rate.

Another benefit is the quality of work that transocean can get from hiring people they know who will do a proper job instead of only using what sembawang gives them. Since sembawang pockets a large chunk of the money, what little is left from the contract goes to manpower companies who further squeeze profits from it, thereby paying very low wages to their workers who in turn do a shoddy job since their paid so lowly when their employers can pay them so much more, but won't.
