QUOTE(keelim @ Nov 24 2010, 05:47 PM) By working for your ‘potential’ employer on visit pass you are at the highest risk. If caught, you will be barred from entering Sg for X no. of months or years. Your employer probably gets a slap on the hand or just a meager fine. On top of that, he is in no obligation to pay you the salary on the contract presumably the clause on work pass issue is stated. To add on ...keelim , your boss or HR can actually apply temp work permit for you if they really want you to work for them. It will only take a moment for them to apply. As long as you furnish them with proper documentation such as SPM and your other papers, it will be easy. In fact the company only need SPM / Diploma / Degree / Passport and they just need a less than 1/2 hours to fully complete the form if all this is done before 3pm (weekday). They can then print out the temporary permit / pass for you and proceed to work as normal till approve. Approval take less than maximum 3 days for complicated issues (have previous work in Spore but then cancel pass). If not approve then you boss just pay you the amount you work or if he really want you, he can appeal. All that cost him is only SGD10 for the temp permit / pass.Don’t be misguided. I won’t risk the chances. The odds are heavily against you. Hope this will help! |

hi, ladies and gentlemen,
i would like to know what broadband is good in singapore? i will be staying in cck soon. however, the unit does not supply internet. So,I am expecting to start a line myself thus i want to know more about your opinion about broadband service in singapore. I hope the internet either by phone line or usb modem (though I would prefer cable connection despite of its consistency). and Most importantly, the usage is unlimited (if there is any) Apparently, I've done some research through the webbie. Thinking Starhub, Singtel or M1 could be good choices. Anyone with good recommendation? This post has been edited by kian26: Nov 27 2010, 01:44 PM |

anyone has taken transbus before? Yesterday, during my way back to Malaysia I saw this bus. So, I would like to know the time for getting back to Sunway from Singapore for this bus. I went to its website, it only has 730am. I just wondering any evening bus. 1st coach 645 too early for me. I can't manage to reach on time. Yesterday, I took 'nice coach', it was awesome. I'm just wondering any other buses/coaches departing in the evening.

Look at my siggy Singtel Mio Home uses land line in the house? Not sure if my landlord allow it though. Thought it would be more convenient to get an usb modem package and bring my laptop around. Besides, I can't utilize the package as I do not have a TV there T_T |

Besides, I can't utilize the package as I do not have a TV there T_T All 3 telcos have cheap mobile broadband services. Just go their website and check out their services. I'm paying $15.49 a month for the slowest line under a 2 year contract from Singtel and the deal included free SIM and a Huawei USB 3.5G modem dongle.Apart from that I also have one of those iPhone plans with voice and 12GB of data. Can use this for tethering to your PC if you don't need constant internet access. Planning to get a Samsung Galaxy Tab for Xmas and use it with a multisim (2 devices using 2 SIM but same phone number) from my iPhone plan. |

QUOTE(kl87 @ Nov 27 2010, 10:01 PM) not so sure for Tuas la. now i travel daily using woodlands. VEP $4 daily. Petrol is the most concerning part. i need to pump 1 full tank every 2 days. RM12. So my daily travel fees is around $7-$8 already. its not really that cheap. but the travel time is not really that scary as well. I leave my house at 6:30am. go ta pao breakfast at taman pelangi. normally i reach office around 7:50am. my office in in AMK.1 thing that i dun like is i need to sacrifice the 10mbps internet connection when i am staying in SG. but overall, i get to enjoy traveling with own transport. can bring my car from KL and park it in my JB house so that i can drive back KL once a month. So overall, if i were given the choice to choose to stay in SG or JB, i will still choose JB |
