QUOTE(mrportable @ Oct 25 2010, 04:59 PM) perhaps i used a wrong term. by saying quit immediately i mean hand in resign letter, i wont be able to leave immediately due to 2 mths notice period(i kno its long)..... I used to be very close to my ex superior and colleagues from my previous 2 companies. When I want to quit I just say I want to experience and learn something new. That's all nothing else. Work is work, when it is the time, we all move on.i could use that two mths to hunt for another job but the hardest part is to resign coz i m quite close with my colleagues n boss as well, it feel awkward if i resign now n they will know the reason....does anyone know the embarrassing feel? Added on October 25, 2010, 5:08 pm everyone thinks i am underpaid even local sgporean they were shocked. i dont always overestimate myself i know whats my ability and i didnt demand alot as i was considered completely new in this field. but after working 3 mths i found that the workload is exceeding what they pay me. If you want to know u r underpaid or not, visit those job hunting site like jobsdb or jobstreet and see the lowest & average offer (forget about the highest). If you manage to get a higher pay job then only u hand in your resignation. You should know better for your industry, so evaluate your bargaining power properly before u quit without a new offer. My personal experience tells me that my workload always exceeding what they pay me. If it is the other way around then I need to be worry about how long I can get hold of this job. My suggestion is to last 1 year for the experience. Please remember there is tax clearance if you work in the company more than 90 days but less than 180 days. btw, after the 2 weeks you still can come back to Singapore for 2 months (social visit pass + 30 days extension). But you need to discuss with your landlord regarding this. |
