Be very careful about the blindspot of the Forte. The C-pillar is so wide that it obscures most of the view. When changing lanes and cutting into the left lane, put your signal lamp for a few seconds, look for a few seconds, then only enter if you're clear. It's very easy to miss a car at the left rear blind spot ; it won't be shown on the left side mirror when it's hidden by the C-pillar.

One thing I noticed while driving in M'sia. Many people don't use signal lamps be it turning, parking, changing lanes... Geesh. Not cool at all.

why forte side mirror is not wide? can't see much if seat properly...must lean forward to see more angle which is very bad if got car in blind spot...

QUOTE(kiaforteclub @ May 11 2010, 08:53 PM)
solved the C pillar problem use a round blindspot mirror from tesco/giant etc... sap sap sui!

AGREE~~~!!! everytime thinking of take away their signal lamps from their cars since useless to them!

Just practice "Look Over Shoulder" to avoid collisions. I have been doing this for couple of years and saved me a number of times. In fact, this is a requirement to pass the driving test in US. There are others good practices in other countries that probably would not work in Malaysia for the quality of the given law reinforcements, the drivers' don't care altitude / civilizations.

I particular like the practice of the Stop-Look-Go and Look Over Shoulder while driving in the states... and I just don't know why most Malaysian can't just behave nice on the road and they are the one that causing most traffic jams due to the irregular driving patterns.

It's wide enough. If you can't see much in your normal driving position, it means you haven't adjusted it properly. The body of your car should not exceed the inner 1/3 of the mirror's image.

Blind spots are exactly what they mean - blind spots. They are technically areas which your mirrors don't show regardless of how you adjust them.

Either use additional mirrors like what KFC mentioned, or be more careful while driving and keep in mind of your blind spots before changing lanes.

Recently i found out something.

If I put D or R in auto mode while i press break and the aircond is on, i can hear the rattle sound (like somewhere from the engine-..dadatatatadata). You can feel this rattle from your steering and gear when u touch them also. But if i off the aircond, the rattle sound gone.

Is this normal? can u guys test it out? Must off the radio to listen to it.

hi all fortezens,
already following this thread for quite some time but have yet to read through from V1 to V5.. V6 almost finish. it's really tiring to go through all thread but it's really informative and helpful too.
i've place my booking for 2.0 spicy red with Kia Kepong on 27 April with the promise that the car can be delivered within 1 month plus minus.
a day earlier, my house has been broke in when we were out for work. so many items gone inclusive of nikon D90 and other jewelleries which worth up to 15k. not only that, my current car duplicate's key also kena sapu which makes me worried that they would come back to get the car. after much consideration, instead of changing the current car key set, we decided to buy a new car as not to worry abt the duplicate key or the potential break in/curi our car again.
having said that, reading thru from prev post, it is more likely for me to just wait and pray so that the car can be delivered on time as their promise.
nevertheless already start to have action list as what to do next. install tinted, install door visor, 2.0 + kia emblem, alarm system and the list goes on.
hopefully this thread will continue to provide feedback and experience sharing with all other fortezens.
will update u guys when i had received the car smile.gif
lastly, pls accept me into this tribe hehehe..
