Sorry, I really don't know the details. I'm only saying what was told to me by my friend. Because of what was told to him, he gave the watch to his nephew. Gosh, imagine if he found out that the watch is genuine and the salesperson was misinformed.  tongue.gif
thats very common in Asia. many times a game to dissuade ppl from going online, but only buy from AD.

Anyways, I am very close to ordering a Stowa B-Uhr. For those who have yet to see it, here's the link Stowa Flieger Baumuster B Dial

Stowa has been making A dial Fliegers all this while but their new range will include a B dial! Its size is 40mm, so it's smaller than your Laco. Price wise, it's also a lot higher compared to a Miyota Laco at 630 Euros.

anyone know when Stowa will start selling those new models? shown in Basel 2010

true the original looks like this and I like the design. I just find watches with date more convenient for daily use. I guess i am part of the group that enjoy more practical usage of a watch. esp its equip with ETA 2824, the original design got to have the date wheel remove. They should have a original flieger in Durowe 7440 movement or the unitas 6489 (also shown below) not the LE version, its like the 1st design is in UNITAS 6300 or DUROWE all mechanical (back looks pretty)

I already made my pick!
if Stowa is releasing the mechanical non-LE version on Swan neck. that will be my pick, don't care if its on Unitas or DUROWE (DUROWE better of course!). if its a ETA 2824, the date is my pick.
then again, if its display back, then its subjected to magnetism. no soft iron core, like those in the good old days.
the original group, only IWC iirc have soft iron core.

homage brands (cheap).. I only can think of CW with soft iron core like IWC but I don't like the design

Yes, especially after Osama bin Laden was seen wearing it in his video. It's also the watch that terrorists prefer because it's easy to mod into a trigger for bombs. shocking.gif

true, but the dial is ugly.. and on top of that its a ETA 2824 standard version at GBP 340. will update the 1st post on value homage with iron core.
Stowa is a higher grade since they all come with blue screws. on top of that Stowa do make the effort to inspect the movement received from ETA and regulate to Stowa specs.
Speedbird , no real histroy. brand is called Speedbird? certainly its cheap. is that swiss movement UK made? seem like Timefactors are the ones making it. seem like a mix bag, the 1st version is swiss, then its german by Ickler then now on the dial is Britain.

interesting read on Fricker and Ickler.

this thread not so accurate
http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.ph...840276#poststop

those low on budget wanna get something close to the original look. EUR 365 (305 gbp) but they are all standard ETA 2824 like Speedbird.
