using seagull movement ah , then should be not very good lo right and no ppl collect watches with seagull movement right ?

does seagull movement made the watch go lighter in weight 1 ah , cox the watch looks huge but feel light when hold .

rm1200 retail for a ingersoll grand canyon automatic , not that value for money & collectibility right if compare to CW , steinhart , stowa ?

For rm1k+ i think CW will be a nice choice, as many models are within that price range. Design and quality wise is also quite good.

seagull maybe the best chinese movement to date.
there are ppl collecting Seagull watches.
collecting seagull movement watches, no idea.

generally the case weight alot more than the movement itself.

to me its expensive.
collectible go with stowa

Yes, they do. Hang Tai in Bangsar Village carries it.
And ST19 chrono from Seagull is one hell of movement.

Not surprise. Seagull does ( or used to ) sub contract work for many of the big brands & probably acquired the expertise from there.

even guangzhou and liaoning are making these, cheapest tourbillion starts at ~US$500 or so i read.
anyway tried theses.

anyway PRC is a hack of a reverse engineer, software stuff is already cake to them, something they can see and disassemble doubt its any rocket science.

i juz bought a seiko diver 4R15. changed to rubber strap wic make it more sporting look. Thou tis watch is a bit heavier den other, i stil love da 4R15 engine movement, smooth n low daily rate +/- 12 seconds.

I'm looking for Seiko Black monster at da moment, tis baby is discont from now on. any1 of u wana sell off ur 2nd handed Black Monster do tell me den. i like to collect divers. Orient mako is a nice stuff too. I have a Rolex submariner too, n i wear it less den 5 times i thk haha.

since i see most of u discussing about stowa, wat so gd about tis watch? it looks like a interesting piece of watch for me. outstanding engine? discont collectible watch? or it is goin to moonspace? i would like to know more about stowa. =)

nothing `wrong' or `right' when it comes to quartz.

its just that most watch people are people who appreciate movement..Therefore, to them, a movement that draws power from a simple battery is consider soul-less. also, they dont fancy the second hand moving by jumping to next marker...

on other hand, automation is all about design, elegance, etc....... Its part and parcel of watch collection...To a true watch lover...movement is really important...so its common people like this will not fancy quartz...

but quartz have advantages....no need to wind or adjust time....just pick up and wear..and they're usually cheaper.....

having said that, i dont think its worth buying an expensive quartz....anything above RM2k for quartz is consider expensive....most watch lovers will ask you to grab a automatic japanese or instead...or some lower priced swiss names...

Stowa.. hmm.
- no outstanding engine, just a ETA or Soprod.
- there are collectors out there, some ppl waited over a yr and are still waiting for limited edition. LE are very collectable.
- not going to the moon or space, neither U only collect watches that been to space?
- there is a stowa forum on WUS.
