Thanks to Bro Ura for this rare video of T.cam moulting.
Every spider we see goes through this process at least 5 times, but it is not often observed....

It is good to see the forum active again, with many activities going on!

Good luck and best wishes to every kaki who has contributed to our fs hobby!!!!!

Yeah Bro Jong thanks alot for the Support always..~!! smile.gif

Indeed there are still many more unsolved questions about FS waiting to be uncovered.. brows.gif

Saw the earlier post by Mangrovejumper and what struck my mind was '"Thiania bhamoensis Thorell, 1887 — Burma to Sumatra ". That means way back in 1887, Ang Mohs were hunting and probably fighting FS??? I then started to day-dream of hunting with our local Fs team and Ang Mohs in jungles in the 19th century......catching 8 mm males... nice to know that our type of FS are available from Burma to Sumatra. Well these places may be my next holiday destinations.  rclxms.gif

Bear in mind that when most of those spiders were first discovered (1880 to early 1900s), the countries as we know them didn't exist.
So don't put too much weight in where the spiders came from. Spider locations do not depend on country borders.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________

Bro Randy also passed me his HK caught T.Bha Huge Female Cecilia Cheung today. I can see her size if compared to our average SG T.Bha Females, easily 1-2 times Bigger.. Really Amazing.. I supposed even the Biggest SG T.Bha Female i ever seen or caught is still smaller than her.. shocking.gif ..from here we can already imagine the Size of T.Bha Males there.. easily 8mm or even bigger is definitely POSSIBLE.. ohmy.gif ..anyway Thanks Alot Bro Randy for the Gift.. notworthy.gif

On Friday while recce-ing aimlessly in Ponggol.. caught this Damn Small Fella which i named it as Dwarf.. should be XS-size(Extra Small Size).. have measured him just now.. only 5mm after a full stomach.. shakehead.gif ..Till now i still dun understand why Thiania's sizes can vary sooo much.. all are Males and for T.Bha they will moult around 5-6 times in their whole lifespan.. and once turned white face also means no more moulting for them hence the size will be more or less around there already.. What can the reasons be..? Gene Problems?? Weather too Hot here caused them to moult faster than usual and hence they didnt get to absorb enough food nutrients?? rclxub.gif

Here's a list of Factors Bro Xarms gave me as they in HK are also facing the same problems:

1) Environment
2) Gene
3) Nutrition
4) Weather
5) Condition
6) Time

Well.. hope 1day we will be able to come out with the Best Set of Answers.. smile.gif

Here are 2 Photos of Dwarf:

Well.. hope 1day we will be able to come out with the Best Set of Answers..

hey bro Ura,

Brilliant videos taken, though I cant watch it live but least I can feast on the videos thumbup.gif Im longing for such frequent gathering which i hope will happen one day here. Listening to the voices, I guess it must be the clear shot cameraman Bro Randy who is filming it, bravo bro for clear shot bouts. very very interesting matches u guys had there, having absolute long timer like brother Kim & bro Buaya among the participant.

bro Ricky, your Thundercat is really getting fiecer everytime he's in action, you are a very good trainer indeed (I need to learn from you more), not forgetting bro vincent's fs, seems like he won almost all the matches (he still hasn's tell me his secret yet sweat.gif ). Bro Ura's cloud is among the best and havent lost any match yet if Im not mistaken, bravo rclxms.gif btw did bro edmund lost his way to the gathering?

Upon seeing bro seng, bro Ura & obviously bro Randy's mentor fs it makes me believe more that bigger fs exist.I really hope I can still stay alert to this hobby thanks to the motivation u guys gave me

p/s : Im really looking forward to your visit now bro Randy icon_rolleyes.gif

good job everyone rclxms.gif

cheers,
Jason

Ya bro jason,
It's really fun to hv so many kakis yesterday at p# Fs bout & many tks to bro Ura for uploaded all the videos.u can hear our shout & laugh during fight, especially bro ah Kim "don't worry mine non-sup..non-sup....Oi?sup arrr!" (Randy's macho man v ah kim's suppow 02 ) and vincent's ML kena kop one arm by ah kim's Huge spider just for one chop!the moment i look at vincent's face like "...........!".(feel sry for bro vincent but i really can't hold myself to laugh) doh.gif
Actually Thundercat i don't really train it,it naturally a gd fighter since i caught, the rest of mine also kena jialat-jialat...bro ura's Cloud is different which has been well trained by him, everytime i see him fight more & more fierce.well done by Ura & congrates to his Cloud to b our current champion ! rclxms.gif
Look like u're crying for spider food again bro..u didn't try on fruit flies?if mango & banana doesn't works then try D24 durian.. brows.gif i really hv no idea hw to help u on this, but hope u will solve the prb soon.

P/s: saw Cecilia cheung (張柏芝) ytd,I think ard same size with Giant Bu caught by Viper88 last time, nice job to bro Randy,if he bring back the real Cecilia cheung even better, much pleasure & not just for viewing only! thumbup.gif

Yo Bro Jason, thanks for viewing the Clips, glad that you have enjoyed them.. smile.gif
Yeah i understand it is alway better to have many FS Kakis around to fight and hunt FS.. but Good FSes especially Big, Strong and Skilful Males are really very very DIFFICULT to find now in SG.. therefore no need to envy us too much if you did.. smile.gif

Nowadays Bro Randy has also learnt up many stuff like recording live fights and uploading the videos here where last time it was mostly me doing it.. Well Done Bro Randy..! thumbup.gif ..nowadays whenever we go out for FS Bouts together, we 2 will record the Matches at the same time.. Therefore we are already short of Hands, other Kakis if possible please lend us a Helping Hand to standby a Big Enuf Leaf for FSes who're going to fall off from the Platform.. this will make everything more smooth-going and also to ensure Fair Fight and Fair Ending.. Dun just watch and forget about the Cameramen's difficulties ok.. brows.gif

Bro Ricky's ThunderCat is a Chop-Killer! This Kind of FS who can handle Chop well and yet wont turn Chop himself is indeed a Rare GooD Fighter!! Even Bro Ricky said himself he didnt really train him, actually me too i didnt train Cloud at all.. In this T.Bha Fighting World, more than 60% is dependable on the Male's Innate Fighting Ability(先天); taken into account the Attacking and Defensing Abilities.. therefore dun be too hopeful to train a Lousy Fighter into a Superb Fighter one day.. this is hardly possible.. even if it works, most likely the Male already got some 先天 but just that you didnt realise it until a later stage.. and dun think of training a Male into a Chop if he is already a Strong Fair Fighter.. Chop will only make things worse and he will go downhill even faster.. they will sort of forget how to defense and just attack blindly which caused their injuries to be more severe.

Anyway Thanks Alot to Bro Ricky!! .. rclxm9.gif ..
Cloud has indeed moved a Big Step forward after yesterday's 2 HEAVY-Weight Fights.. will check on him regularly to see if he also turned Chop, cos yesterday both opponents who fought him were Chopsters too.. sweat.gif

These few days i will try to make a Video of Dwarf and Cecilia Cheung.. it is rather interesting as Cecilia Cheung being the HUGE T.Bha Female(seriously she got the Physique of a T.Sub Female) is actually a Gentle and Meek Lady.. where Dwarf being one of the SMALLEST T.Bha Male around.. is actually a DareDevil.. even defeated a Koppow who was much bigger than him yesterday.. shocking.gif

Anyway my Condolences to Bro Vincent's ML.. hope you will get a Better Replacement soon.. smile.gif

I've tried it on mango, lots of fruit flies but when i go closer they all fly away...any way to get the flies into my fs housing? and if they do get in how to not let them get out? the ventilation hole is big enough for those flies to get away

need help,
Jason

Hi Everyone

It was a fantastic FS Sunday for all of us, really worth rushing there and back and out again..... So many Kaki at one place and is the first time I meet up with Bro Yuda too.

The biggest FS is Ah Kim's huge FS...easily large size. Where on earth does he always get such big ones???? I still remember his Bi Peno II, equally large. It would be good if we can photograph his huge FS on grid paper for all to admire. The strongest Fs is Cloud and he managed to beat the strongest challengers, Tomiko (Mentor destroyer) as well as Ah Kim's huge FS. That was the highlight of the day when heavy weights clash. rclxms.gif

I also felt kind of sad or also don know whether to laugh or not when Bro Vincent's FS Arm kena bitten off. That was an L size FS biting off an ML sized FS's arm. ohmy.gif It is already so hard to catch an ML sized FS...and kind of remind me of my Mentor arm kena bitten off. Anyway Bro Buaya and Ah Kim set such high standards and Buaya's spar Fs is my current 1st King, Strawberry. rclxms.gif

Over the weekend, I did catch quite a lot of FS but none make the grade. Released 5 Fs this morning including Fear who lost to Pikachu, who then occupied the last slot in Team Randy.

Pikachu (Bottom) V Fear (Top) 120611

While releasing the 5 FS today before work, was rewarded with an ML sized FS called Cotton Candy. . Thankfully he is a normal fighter and beat Pikachu, who was occupying Team Randy's last slot.

Cotton Candy (Left) V Pikachu (Right) 130611

Lastly it was all Bro Ura's expertise in recording all the fights. My recording shall serve as back-up. tongue.gif

My current line up:-

(1) Strawberry (ML)
(2) Cotton Candy (ML)
(3) Macho Man (ML)
(4) Mysterio (SL)
(5) Snap (SL-Sub)

Your Exspiderking

Randy

Hi Bro Ura,

The LC worm is not producing enough babies, the babies all finish already...other than lotus seed what else to feed?
I had lots of fruit flies on the mango that i put in a container yesterday but all fled once i open the top..... sweat.gif

went to aquarium shop and bought some earth worm and the yellow colour worm (look like the lc worm but much bigger in size). tried to feed them earth worm, cut them into tiny pieces and its still moving but the fs is not interested...intro yellow worm which i cut into tiny pieces also, only 2 of the fs ate, the rest not interested...

Im going to look for some black ant nest today, hopefully it will help before my crickets start to have babies...

btw, how long is the cycle of cricket mating to babies?

Added on June 14, 2011, 5:27 pmHi everyone,

I recorded 2 fights days ago while hunting.

Together is 2 pics of a different species, this is an awkward moment. I was preying for the fs and out of a sudden from nowhere, something jump on it and ate it....here are the pics

another scary moment, while getting ready for hunting, something moved 10feet away from me, didnt bother cause I thought its normal small lizard or small creeping insect/animal. To my surprise, it was a 1.5 metre lizard, my leg without thinking ran straight to my car. On second thought while near my car, I think I should record it (creepy stuff reminds me of bro Randy's bravery). took out the phone and only manage to record from far (dare not go near at all, its so huge....) only can see some movement as it was so bright to look into the phone on what was recorded

I somehow regretted not being brave enough to go near to record but if that ever happen again I guess I will do the same, run....I dont think I have the guts of bro Randy, lol. here's the video

its from far range so u have to focus something moving towards the inner bushes (above the branch to the mid right)

Hi bro jason,
Tks for sharing the video/pic,look like our lone ranger hunting adventure become more & more exciting, big spider eat ur Fs follow by big lizard...quite similar with bro randy's story, means within this two days u will manage to catch big Fs like Mentor ,it's actually a gd sign bro! smile.gif ur newly caught looks really big with long arm..big ML/L? My current team still remained in SL category, compare to bro Randy mine "can't smell the smoke" @@. Wonder why I still can't c any ML in my recent hunting, shall talk to my boz to get some company's project in KL dy.. tongue.gif or maybe i shud change my spot to the place which easily meet something like wild boar or cobra I think...Bo lat.

Here's a video posted few days ago by our kaki(bro Seng) in FB:-

Last Sunday bro Seng show it to me @ p#..damn it the spider looks much bigger than T.cam Wolverine ,in video bro Seng put another same kind to fight..but seems like this species r more keen to eat the opponent..scary! sweat.gif

P/s:luckily kena ate that Fs not ur 1st king,or else I believe the big spider will become "shit-biscuit" under ur feed. Ha ha..

Its actually quite simple..
make sure your fs inside the leave/bottom of the case and not wandering near the top area.
Open fs case, slowly move towards the fruit flies tat bz sucking fruit juice.
When really near ady, just scoop some of the fruit flies into the FS case n close it.
Place the FS case upside down blocking the ventilation hole exit abit.
See your FS hunt n eat the juicy fruit flies.

Normally i feed my FS using this way and it takes less than few seconds only.

Bro Randy,

I wish not to see slimmy/weird creature, its kinda scary you know. If you are in a group its different, when alone......my pubic hair also stand when see such creature...None of the newly caught's arm can compare to saphire's long arm (I kinda miss his arm length tho). I really dont have time to measure the sizes as new fs kept coming in therefore have to release the older ones without measuring. with the task of feeding, im busier than ever now cause i've been hunting ants for the pass 2 days instead of fs sweat.gif having high hope to see bro Randy to my rescue soon thumbup.gif

what species is that fs which belong to bro bro seng? really aggresive leh..

hi bro viper,

Forget about scooping them, getting near to them also they will fly away. I think it will take a while for me to master that skill of a pro that you have. I hope to see you in person someday to see the demo. bro Randy & bro edmund might be coming over this weekend, u free to join? bro mindstorm will be here too.

Talking about this aggressive jumping spider let me recalled an incident at P#. While flipping over a dry leave, a huge fs jumped and disappeared. Thought I'm so lucky to spot a king kong pow, waited and searched the spot for almost half an hour (squatted there feeding hungry mozzies) eventually found him to be a 'huntu' spider. Arghhh.

I've tried it on mango, lots of fruit flies but when i go closer they all fly away...any way to get the flies into my fs housing? and if they do get in how to not let them get out? the ventilation hole is big enough for those flies to get away

need help,
Jason

You must do a leopard crawl to your target. Without making any noise, ambush your 'enemies' swiftly using a big transparant plastic bag. Gotcha ! They are food for your fs tongue.gif

Kidding la bro, no need to do the leopard crawl. What I do is use a big transparent plastic bag. Move quietly to the target and swiftly cover the whole mango with the flies surrounding it. Let the fruit flies get into the plastic bag and seal its end. Now you have a plastic bag of fruit flies. Knock the flies unconscious and feed them to your fs. biggrin.gif

Feeding lc worms with chinese herbs ? Maybe fs after eating the lc worms will be much stronger hehehe... I do know some arowana hobbyist feed the superworms with ginseng. I think you can feed oats to lc worms or maybe a slice of apple ?

Added on June 17, 2011, 12:19 amI got a question about LC worms. Bro Jason passed me some with some sorta broken up "shell" with them that the LC worms seems to be eating on. Are those lotus seed? I got some lotus seed and they don't seem to have that sorta shell. The shell pattern seems to that of the skin of longan. Is it so?

Bro Jason, that's a adult male Pancorius magnus you've encountered.
Attached Image
Pretty common species in our jungles.
I first encountered them in 2008. You can see i posted them up in the first tread.

Yes they can get quite big. But nothing to be afraid of lah... can let it walk on your hand. Quite hand friendly but can jump really far...
Attached Image
The biggest one I recently found had a body length of 13 mm, legspan up to 3 cm.
Attached Image
The biggest female is 14mm body length, and it's not even gravid.
Attached Image
However despite their size...they're no match to an even bigger jumper that sometimes are found in the same habitat where Pancorius are found....
Attached Image Attached Image
And this fella eating an adult female pancorius is only a subadult(male)...

Hey Mindstorm, the "shell" you will only be able to find it in raw/unprocessed lotus seeds.. which is the type of lotus seeds we are using to feed the LC worms.. smile.gif
