I hunted outside the fence whereas ken went inside the house...all in vain. I decided to bend down and flip at each and every leaf, a tough task as almost all the leaves were wet. Just then, Ken called for me and I knew he had found another big one. It was the natural reaction to call for support in case the precious big one escape. However I could not find him.

Your friend went inside the house to hunt for FS? The compound you mean? Can't be in the house got vegetation or is this some kind of dilapidated house? If then, thats creepy, got picture of this house? Sounds very interesting. Anyways wonderful stuff you posted about your trip Randy. I had a good read yesterday night while waiting for my flight back to SG rclxms.gif

Hi Everyone

Part 3 of Triang's FS hunt.

It was Saturday, 4th of December 2010, my last day for hunting. Was hoping that it would not rain, but...well no control over the weather and it rained and rain and rain.. the type of long life rain that you know will continue the whole day.

Would rain stop hardcore Fs hunters? The answer is obviously, No.

I put on a thick T-shirt, a track jacket and a hooded rain coat coupled with a cap. ken was also adequately dressed to hunt in the rain, though his dressing was more basic. We left home at about 7.30am, not on a motor bike but in Ken's 2.7 litre spanking white SUV. I suggested to Ken to go to Triang river to check out the possibility of big FS and we were there in less than 10 minutes. The river isn't like what we SG people are used to. Over in Triang, we needed to drive through the palm oil plantation to reach the edge of a river. It was there that I learnt that the torns on the palm tree branches are poisonous and next time I am at Megatron side of P#, I would avoid the oil palm tree as it had this dangerous looking torns ready to poke.

When we were at the edge of the river, we immediately spotted a small spot with FS potential. i was mindful that there were many holes about 4 inches in diameter all over  the muddy ground. ken confrmed that they were snake holes. There was also no indication where the river starts as the edge was covered by vegatations and don know why I kept imagining a big crocodile jumping out and biting us even though ken said there was no crocodile. We were able to catch a few Fs but there were not the big ones we were after. Well, now at least I know that the river bank does not neccessarily produce large FS. ken parked the car facing land in case the tide rushes in ....but well we left safely, no flood, no snake bite, no crocodile and no big FS..only rain and more rain.

We left the river and look at people's vegetable/fruit plot. They do to a certain extend look alike and look like the picture below (which was where FS No. 2 was caught). They also had some unfamiliar vegetable for which the leaves does have FS residing inside.

[attachmentid=1927834]

[attachmentid=1927838]

We then drove about and decided that the single storey abandoned house with primary school leaves at the broken fence hold some Fs potential. Yes, there were some Fs but not really big ones. Suffice to say, the mosquitoes were plentiful too. Just as I was about to give up as it was raining quite heavily, Ken pointed to 2 primary school leaves and yes....clearly that is a male Fs sleeping there. FS No. 4 was accordingly caught.  rclxms.gif

FS No. 4 is an ML sized Fs but appeared slow and the legs not sticky. However my months of experience tells me it was due to the weather. We then headed for home about 9.30am. By then Ken's white SUV had become brown from the rain and mud.  biggrin.gif

The morning and afternoon were spent with our respective families sight seeing. When our families were at home in the evening due to rain, we set off for round 2. We headed straight for the abandoned house. I looked high and low but the elusive big FS was nowhere to be found. It did not matter that it rained the whole day, was cold and wet and was still raining.  tongue.gif

However I could not find him.  unsure.gif

I called out for him and realised that he was opposite the abandoned house. He was across a big drain at err... a rubbish dump..a small rubbish dump (not smelly) where people left old sofa and if I remember correctly a fan and some car parts. The drain, a proper cement drain was about 1 metres deep and about 1 metres to jump accross. I decided to walk across via the cement beam and was safely accross. This place had a short coconut tree, many dragon plant and other plants and it was very messy...perfect for FS. Well the call for me was not to tell me about any big FS but to tell me he was there. Anyway, we hunted and caught a couple of small male. Then Ken's eagle eye spotted two dragon plant leaf sticking together and he declared "quite big". It was however across the drain and Ken remained there while I walk across the drain and across the rubbish dump. The leaves of the dragon plant which I know as Drascina (not sure of spelling) are long leaves and this FS nest were two leaves stuck near the middle, not at the edge. It was therefore a real challenge for Ken to lean over across the drain to hold the leaves, for me to cut and shorten the leaves while standing on a coconut tree branch. We did not want this FS to escape. When the leaves were shortened, I used the net Mrs Exspiderking gave me to catch this fella and viola....FS No.5 was caught.  rclxm9.gif
By then it was about 6.00pm, cold and dark and alas it was time to go home.

We caught a total of 5 FS this 2 days.

The biggest is FS No. 1, now confirmed to be a giant. FS No. 5 is the second largest, a very big ML like Valtor's size and the third biggest is FS No. 2.

It was a very fruitful hunting trip for me. In SG, I don think I can get 5 good size FS in 2 days. Most importantly, I had the company of Triang's Golden hands, Ken. During the hunt, I was in FS heaven and I look foward to going to Triang to hunt again.

Haha bro, we share the same sentiment. If bro Randy could take some shots on the dilapidated house and its surrounding would be interesting.

Hi Bro Trevally and Bro Krauser

Sorry din bring camera on the second day of hunt, so no pictures. So you guys need to use bit of imagination. smile.gif

It was in the compound and not in the abandoned house. Actually there was another abandoned house which I entered the compound on the first day of hunt. Got FS but small.

Most importantly the focus should rightfully be on Raksasa...he is a giant and is worth taking leave just to have sight of him. biggrin.gif

Bro Kamal.. I see I see~ So is that picture.. haha.. in fact i have several that angle of views for FS photos, didnt know last time you like this kind of view if not will post more haha..

In fact taking photos for FS can be very enjoyable too, depending on the FS's character.. Some are born to be photographed they really know how to pose themselves, stretching out their beautiful arms in a mesmerizing way as if their profession is modelling.. laugh.gif , barely 10shots, already more than half are satisfactory shots.. like the current Royal's Avatar i'm using, it is my all-time favourite photo.. thumbup.gif

And some just not.. they always like to close their arms 90degree and rest cutely there like a small innocent boy.. wub.gif or the worst is that they always jump to your camera, these type are very tough to handle.. sweat.gif

All in all, FS is always a very cute, adorable and beautiful small creature to me. Whatever they do i always like it very very much.. smile.gif

Thanks for appreciating, i will continue to strive for better shots.. hope can get few more Raksasa's size FS of different colors like dark blue or dull golden.. cos they are the Best colors for photography..
Btw we are planning to go JB for some FS huntings in Jan2011, hope you can join us too.. smile.gif
As Bro Randy has already done his "groundwork", now just waiting for the appropriate weekend to take real actions! brows.gif

Bro Ura,

No actually I prefer the frontal shots, but that particular shot where Raksasa is looking away just happens to show his mammoth size, so it's nice!

January's going to be busy again for me, as weekend's are always filled with music lessons, but this 19th (Dec) will be good as I have nothing on that day at all! But only if you'll are free too. Otherwise, no prob, I'll just view the videos. That itself is already so gratifying!

Hi Bro Kamal, no problem i will be free on the 19th this month.. i think we shall explore some new spots on that day.. smile.gif Looking forward.. i still remember back in June, there was 1day we started hunting so early in the morning, we went Sembawang area 1st and later on to few other spots. Any idea? That time you were keeping Challenger, and we witnessed how well he was a Fighter.. is always Good Memories to me.. biggrin.gif

i think if FS can talk, they would definitely talk to both bro Ura and bro Randy. Their FS seem to be able to live very long!
Plus the dedication shown from both of them is superb! thumbs up!

Hey thanks Bro Ez, as long as you practise the methods we use to rear FS, you can also keep your FS healthy and active for 2months time, nothing magical about it. But to reach 3months, it got to depend on the FS itself, for Spring is becos he was a newly-moulted FS when i caught him plus he didnt convert to Chopster all these period. These 2 factors strongly affect how long a FS can live in captivity i feel.. smile.gif
Yeah i also wish that FS can somehow communicate with us.. then we will surely feel more passionate towards them.. smile.gif

Btw have you use the netting Bro Randy passed to you, to make the ventilation for containers?
An Airy environment is extremely important to a FS's well-being, plus fresh leaves.. smile.gif

Oh my goodness, those are really beautiful memories man! I remember bro Ura, we left early morning, and hunted until about 5plus
I think? Can't remember what time we ended. But it was really beautiful. I would love to re-live those moments again, just that, more
busy now. But frankly speaking, thank you for always uploading videos and pics. I wonder how it'll be when you start working and
start getting more busy. Who'll upload all the videos? Hopefully there'll be an Ura junior! rclxms.gif

Yes bro, Challenger was indeed a warrior! flex.gif He fought 4 or more different FS'es that day and won all of them. And we didn't even
give him much time to rest in between the bouts. Very strong fellow. If you had your present method of rearing fs, I would have
passed him to you. He was getting weak, so I felt I should return him to nature. Haha, talking about all this makes me feel warm
inside, because of my love for fs I guess. Sometimes I feel..is it good to catch fs and make them fight, and lose a leg etc? Haha.
Then I feel a little bad. sad.gif

But anyway, if FS could talk and communicate with us, I can tell you this...if they were to lose a leg or so in a fight, and they communicated
that pain to us, we would be the ones crying and feeling the remorse much more. cry.gif

I might be free today at about 4pm, but too late right? Will you be anywhere at that time today? I think wherever I go at that time,
all the fs kaki would have swept the area clean of fs, or rather, kungs. The boos will still be there though. blink.gif

Beautiful video. I like the part where you let him jump to the camera, and also the fight in the video, it somehow
showed the aggresive, 'male' part of him, after we saw the 'romantic' side of him when wooing the boo. Nice video.
Can see how healthy he still is after 90 days!

Good job bro.

Hi Everyone

I fully agree with Bro Kamal and cannot thank Bro Ura enough for consistently uploading the videos and pictures the same day, something like 9.30pm news.

Part of the reason why I am FS crazy is due to Bro Ura's uploading the fights for all to see. This makes FS much more meaningful than if don have video and later describe the fight verbally. smile.gif

Just look at how Bro Ura shared Raksasa with everyone...beautiful photos, nice videos. Please keep up the excellent work. rclxms.gif

Oh yes, the Spring video was also wonderfully done....like a love story. Handsome FS sees pretty FS, fall in love and the pretty FS ....well goes away for some reason known to herself. Handsome FS search and search and had to fight a bad guy FS and continues to search... tongue.gif

Hi to all FS Bros..

Hey thank you so much Bro Kamal and Bro Randy for the Kind and Encouraging Comments.
I will continue to post all the photos and videos as long as you guys are still supporting and appreciating them.. tongue.gif

Most importantly i do enjoy the process of doing all these, which makes me feel that it is not a chore to me at all.. smile.gif

There are many Videos recorded today. Now Team Krauser is getting stronger, Team Ura and Team Randy have to work harder in order to keep up with the standard haha. Maybe soon we will have Team Koppao, Team Simone and Team Jong and Team etc...

Really hope more kakis can come back and join us in the fun of making SG-FS-History. I am glad that today when our Golden Hands Bro Ken25 saw Raksasa, Raksasa does hold the Honour to be said that its size can be matched with Terminator and Hulk these 2 XL FS. Raksasa is really a Photogenic FS i love to take photos for him.. biggrin.gif

After our Early morning Hunting Trip with Bro Randy, Bro Ez, Bro Ken25 and Bro Michael at N##. I joined Bro Kamal in the afternoon 2nd session at P#. It was really nice to see Bro Kamal again after such a long period since Oct. We spotted a cute little dog playing around with a Horse just opposite the entrance of Megatron spot. So i decided to take video and post it here to share with you guys.
The little dog is really cute and adorable.. laugh.gif
And we happened to catch a M-size FS each, and both of them gave quite a fantastic fight~
Both were named by Bro Kamal, as usual he is always FAST in giving good names for FS.. rclxm9.gif

Well.. so pls enjoy the videos and photos again~

Hi Everyone

Yes I agree with Evil Educator (Ezi), Team Krauser's FS has improved a lot. Just look at his FS named Focker, it is a big sized Fs and may I say even bigger than Valtor. Will be interesting to see Raksasa fight against Focker. rclxms.gif

In fact, Team Randy's FS has appeared to shrunk in size ... cry.gif

Nevermind, Team Randy will start his fresh recruitment drive and endeavour to reach the current FS standard. Also maybe soon we should Team Ezi, Team Koppao, Team Simone, Team Jong and Team Ken to join in the fights.

Wah an open challenge for my problem child to go against your king kong pow arh? rclxub.gif Oklah accepted..hopefully can produce a good fight..

Coincidentally Raksasa is the only 2nd FS that made me go WOW..actually the exact words from my mouth were 'WAH LEOW!' when he jumped out of his box. drool.gif The 1st being Terminator. so enuf said about his size.. Sorry BTL, Titan most probably it was becoz I saw him 1st evening time @ PA and another nighttime @ Simon's house ..should have made me go WOW as well based on his gridsize.

I've keen to see the No.5 which is s'posed to be the 2nd biggest from Triang? Understand it has joined Team Koppau? Lai! Krauser's Krew is waiting! cool2.gif

The construction across road and the tearing down of some patches along our favorite stretch seems to have caused an ecological imbalance @ NTU. In my 2 years of hunting there I've never came across tree frogs but look at this pic below.
Attached Image
Not exactly a tree frog but it was perched on the CB Leaf at my waist level ready to strike. I'm no frog expert and wasn't sure if it was poisonous or not so I left it alone. Wondered if it traveled higher up after I left. Also encountered small lizards hiding in between leaves. So there goes our FSes. 1st to go will the the Terminator/ Raksasa/ Titans and giant bus since they're attention grabbers with their sizes and bright colors. I could only guess that the arrival of these new predators are due to the litter the construction workers leave behind especially food leftovers. They attract flies - the rubbish dump types. doh.gif

Nice pics. I still haven't finish see the new fs video yet because line damn slow.. lol

Base on the grid paper, Raksasa size is 7mm from tip of abdomen till front head.
Raksasa size is definitely large size.. on par with other large size FS caught before

If compare to BTL previous FS Justice.. Justice is bigger. 7mm++ ( should be around 7.2 or 7.2mm)
