Here is a quite informative site about the new Avante..It stated that in term of total interior room, the Elantra/Avante is so roomy the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) classifies it as a mid-size car, not a compact car like C*vic and A*tis. thumbup.gif

Warning: The 2011 Hyundai Elantra may be disturbing to current owners of compact cars.

previous Sonata NF also dont have panoramic sunroof, now they put it as standard feature (in 2.0 Hi spec & 2.4)

these are the crucial things which challenges those typical "branded" but tin kosong cars.

BTW... where is the Hyundai showroom at Pandan Indah... I remember there is one but could find it now... >.<

if we take a look at the recent launch of Sonata, Tucson and Santa Fe, Hyundai is now offering more equipments to compensate the lack of refinement in order to capture sales.

The 6 speed box in Tucson might get jerky sometimes, but hey, it has one extra cog than the CR-V. The Sonata passenger can get a dose of natural sunlight rather than being left in darkness in the Accord. These are extras for someone who is spending 140K+ for a car. You get more things, rather than "feel" more.

Checked with one of the dealer in Town.

After raba2 the Tuscon and Sonata I started to enquire about the all New Avante.
Felt a bit embarrassed initially cause the SA gave me the "WTF" look when I mention Avante which obviously means that she does not know what it is all about.
When I mention New Elantra then she understood but only up to that, shi*t...talking about product knowledge, than she pulled her manager to see me.
Ok now we are on the right track.

According to him there will be some "Meeting" with Hyundai HQ about this Avante in March and the product is expected to be launched by April or May.
I gave him the "R U SURE" look. He say yes. I still doubt it.....
Anyway he further added that there will be 2 version which will be 1.6 and 1.8...again I say r u sure.
It seems the current Accent sales will be stopped once Avante comes in.

Waiting period for Sonata is 3mths and 6mths for Tucson! and these depends on colours too.
Apparently Hyundai/SD don't want to make the same mistake as the two above models and for Avante they want to bring some ample stocks before
launching.Seeing less "New" Hyundai on the roads giving a wrong impression about their sales and confidence to the public, so some change in strategy.

Booking fee is RM1K.
Can't promise any discounts or freebies for time being as they don't know what is the price going to be like.
Delivery will be on First come first serve basis.

We will know real soon. I hv 2 informant, salesmen from 2 branches and a friend who is working at Hyundai SD HQ. May is still the target launching. smile.gif it seems like my SA is giving better deal in promising the stuff, full tank petrol and a gps + whatever offer (freebies + discount) given by SD. smile.gif.I should be placing booking fee in march after getting co's incentive. tongue.gif

actually i m a little too impressed with the way hyundai has done for their people in Korea, Their cars are better than Japanese cars today. More feature and more feature... haha

But only thing with Malaysia, always kena potong stim one. If you have seen overseas model. Especially Korean ones. A lot of features are included. Anyhow they will remove some yummy features inorder to sell at a cheaper price and also to make more money. If all in all the car would cost a little below 140K for the high spec model that probably may or maynot come with Navigation and SPAS. Sad sad. but smart and push start stop button probably will be in the list.

The most difficult color to maintain imo. Looks good only when clean. Once dirty, looks very crappy. Best color in my opinion is the silver. Clean or dirty it still has its looks.
