Phone makers over the globe right now are trying to lower down their price point.

The current HTC line up also price lower than previous. HTC legend launch with rm2k while last time htc hero is around 2.4k

Apple also announced they lowering 4th gen iphone price.

Nokia N8 is price at 370Euro it's definitely lower than N97 and N900 500Euro price.

I really cant wait to see what it can do. Im quite disappointed with Symbian given that the lead they had in the first place, and yet still unable to churn out enough application thats going to be useful in the first place.

Its UI seems to be sluggish IMO.
The camera and video recording is awesome but I dont think the other features really bring in the wow effect.

Something so powerful only running on 1200mAh battery

finally its come true.... been waiting for some times..

Hope that the delay in the shipping date means that Nokia will improve the UI more. Nokia will not want the N97 fiasco to happens again right?
OTOH, the firmware used in the vid were beta, prototype ones right?
If so, then it can explain the sluggishness in the UI.

Yes, I also feel the UI doesn't look very impressive. Looks a bit like N900's interface, which also didn't impress me.
But if the camera is great, I don't really mind the GUI.

I hope this symbian^3 is really a totally, ultimately lagless OS like the one in iphone lor. Symbian s60v5 is just like s60v3 with touch, still will lag. Let's hope this is a new page in nokia's history.

speechless its UI totally different with N900. Symbian ^3 interface is similar to Nokia N97 interface

I used to think that features are the most important things to consider until you feel for yourself how Iphone managed to pawn them whole being something inferior from hardware point of view ( don't compare screen technology ). If Nokia want to revive Symbian popularity, they should start by getting more developer to write software for them. SlideIt is just one of the best example of showing Nokia's lacklustre in term of innovation.

Thats why nokia now have QT able to port softwares and games across platform. We are comparing overall.

i would say about 2k after tax

370 euros is the price excluding tax. i bet it will be in the range of RM2100-2300.

While its true that they dont multitask or having limitation on this matter, it still perform much better than any symbian device at any given day.

yea but if u put a list side by side any symbian phone owns iphone. Compare apple to apple. Be specify of what do u mean by perform? Screen? Camera? Sound? Multi tasking? Flexibility? Limitation? Hardware? Software? Warranty? Speaker? Screen size? Touch interface? Bluetooth? FM transmitter ? Battery? Price tag?

That's why I'm feeling skeptical as well.
If Nokia really used ARM11 based processor in N8, the only logical explanation I can think off was that Nokia was using Tegra in Nokia N8

bcoz the 3gs is using the arm cortex A8,although only at 600 mhz,it beats other proc at the same clock.u can compare a 600 mhz ARM 11 device and a ARM Cortex A8 at the same speed.

if nokia chg a better proc on this phone,i'm sold.but i cant say much on this matter 1st,maybe they can do some optimization on the os and make it perform good

no point den ppl will compare iphone 4G after tat.

for me. 12mp camera + 720p record + long batery ..enough~

ARM Cortex A8 running at 600mhz is equal to the Qualcomm Snapdragon running at 1Ghz

That will tell how powerful the processor is.

if only nokia go bankrupt, then i will use apple.

i have many bad memories with ipod and imac.

the curious part is 1200mAh how long can this battery last?

If N8 runs on 1500mAh or more than its really a monster.

although I am Symbian user for so many generation, there is 1 thing needless to deny....

Iphone sales volume speak by itself.. their marketing strategy win over nokia by far...

althought those day N95 vs Iphone 2G, N95 win almost in every single aspect... But Apple still sell plenty of Iphone 2G....

now those advantages are gone for Nokia... so.. have to suffer... I hope nokia won't follow SE step.... and I felt Symbian^3 will only suffer compare to other OS...

the only hope are in the meamo then MeeGo... else... sorry Nokia...
