it means Maemo applications and games can be ported between meego , maemo, symbian ^ 3 and future OS

Yes, I also feel the UI doesn't look very impressive. Looks a bit like N900's interface, which also didn't impress me. But if the camera is great, I don't really mind the GUI.
speechless its UI totally different with N900. Symbian ^3 interface is similar to Nokia N97 interface

I used to think that features are the most important things to consider until you feel for yourself how Iphone managed to pawn them whole being something inferior from hardware point of view ( don't compare screen technology ). If Nokia want to revive Symbian popularity, they should start by getting more developer to write software for them. SlideIt is just one of the best example of showing Nokia's lacklustre in term of innovation.
Thats why nokia now have QT able to port softwares and games across platform. We are comparing overall.

seems n8 will replace 5800 sooner or later, but depends on its built quality. if sucks like x6, say bye2....
but i bet after launch of n8, nokia will release another device based on design by community project. if this project comes true, well, say goodbye to n8.
with the spec so powerful like this it owns every other previous nokia phones. There no nokia phone as powerful as this yet

While its true that they dont multitask or having limitation on this matter, it still perform much better than any symbian device at any given day.
yea but if u put a list side by side any symbian phone owns iphone. Compare apple to apple. Be specify of what do u mean by perform? Screen? Camera? Sound? Multi tasking? Flexibility? Limitation? Hardware? Software? Warranty? Speaker? Screen size? Touch interface? Bluetooth? FM transmitter ? Battery? Price tag?

bcoz the 3gs is using the arm cortex A8,although only at 600 mhz,it beats other proc at the same clock.u can compare a 600 mhz ARM 11 device and a ARM Cortex A8 at the same speed.
if nokia chg a better proc on this phone,i'm sold.but i cant say much on this matter 1st,maybe they can do some optimization on the os and make it perform good
no point den ppl will compare iphone 4G after tat.
If you want a touch screen phone, I agree stay away from Nokia. But if you want a strong all-around phone, Nokia's models are still good. Based on your signature, I guess you're an Android user. I like Android, I really do (HTC Hero owner here). The problem is that they don't have a strong multimedia camera phone yet. Nexus 1, Desire... all these have normal 5MP cameras only.
U anti nokia phones doesnt mean for life they design their phone will be crap. I am pretty impress with Nokia N900 touch screen sensitivity so i totally disagree with u. I owned it I experience it and i am loving it
How can I be anti-Nokia when I own so many Nokia phones (see my signature)? I'm not saying the N900 touchscreen is bad, I'm just saying it's not the best.

N900 got its own pros and cons. Do u know Nokia n900 screen resolution is 800 X 480 so means website looks nicer compare to N8 is 360 x 640 pixels.

The confusing part was only thru HDMI u get dolby sound quality then what about the quality of its speaker?
