QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Apr 29 2010, 09:44 AM) from the photo sample i think its sufficient enough. The curious part was i download the photo and check the photo data it didnt state what camera took the photos honestly, i feel the photo from gsmarena, especially the one where the girl is looking at jeans pants one..kinda like, too good for a phone camera...

well, from what i notice....the nokia pictures posted on GSM arena was very very high in quality...i think not just point n shot, maybe can even compare with semi pro cameras, i see the picture quality on one of the picture is really almost similar to my LX-3
Added on April 29, 2010, 3:30 pmhonestly, i think hardware wise, the phone is really cool...the rest is really up to how symbian^3 can utilize the hardware, and what kind of user experience it can deliver, and also the application availability

QUOTE(nicholasbeh @ Apr 29 2010, 03:42 PM) @BBxiong Nokia N8,costing an estimated 370 Euros (£320), the phone will contain Nokia first 12 megapixel camera, with Carl Zeiss optics,Xenon flash and largest sensor(1/1.9) that makes this as much a camera as a phone, putting other smartphone cameras to shame Added on April 29, 2010, 3:43 pmmy satio and N86 cant provide that kinda quality.honestly.lose 9 roads. ah i see.... honestly, the quality of the photo is really kinda like my LX-3 + noise and - a bit quality...darn bloody good for a phone.. btw it's aperture is also same as N86, is 2.8, that's why it's gonna be rather good for dim condition also

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Apr 29 2010, 03:55 PM) i love Canon Tx-1 Macro zoom super niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee lol...same...the other day i just played ultra close macro with my LX-3, naaaissseeee anyway phone camera is still phone camera...manual focus, aperture setting and shutter speed pls just stay with semi-pro and pro class camera...lol @nic: i don think adding external kb would add that much thickness...but given such phone..i really don mind..have HDMI-out somemore...more reason to get 64GB card for it..can use as portable HD player lol Added on April 29, 2010, 4:01 pmQUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Apr 29 2010, 03:59 PM) speaker yes 5800XM is quite good but audio processing quality still below average. I owned a ipod nano its sound better izit....hmm..didnt know about that one i tot the sound processing is rather decent...at least last time my N81 the bass is pumping real hard compared to my N82 now..haha This post has been edited by BBXiong: Apr 29 2010, 04:01 PM

oh...standard HDMI is used by LCD TV, LCD monitor, plasma...by connecting to it thru the HDMI out, u can view ur screen on ur HDTV/monitor... it's kinda like the old tv-out function, but in HD

well...TV-out i think it's outputing analog signal, which is ideal for CRT TV, which is also analog, while HDMI is a new type of cable, and it's transmitting digital signal, which is best for HDTV and monitors, since they are digital displays..and HDMI can transmit higher rate of data, which means can transmit higher resolution output with better quality.... roughly what i understand about it la, any error pls just correct me...
vivaz? that weird looking phone(to me) with the camera at the middle of the back? no thanks..lol

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Apr 29 2010, 04:23 PM) =.= Dolby means surround sound la buddy. It also depends your source if your source is crap the output also is crap via HDMI izit i tot they have something with video also?? looks like i'm wrong..haha try watching 720p BDrip and see la..haha, sure stunning Added on April 29, 2010, 4:26 pmQUOTE(nicholasbeh @ Apr 29 2010, 04:24 PM) but nokia device since N73 got 3D surround sound effect d.long long time ago.why nokia didnt state it as Dolby surround? that one is just emulating the sound to make it seems like it's from a further distance, make that 3D feel.. i think that Dobly Digital Plus is the technology name or whatever la...haha This post has been edited by BBXiong: Apr 29 2010, 04:26 PM

depends, in the end, it's still about how polished Symbian^3 is compared to right now... the leaked device show a better looking homescreen, but everything else is same/similar as Symbian V5 right now...if u ask me, i personally think that Symbian V5 sucks in terms of touch screen experience

yeah that's true, it's due to the price that ppl can endure how *ordinary* the OS is...honestly if u ask me, the theme effect aint that impressive, despite bigger screen, just a slightly dumped processor, some place need to double tap...lol, that's really a joke for touch screen experience, really
sorry, i memang have high requirement when it comes to phone...cos, it's gonna be the device u be using the most...

well...there are something that worries me though....right now, this phone is running on symbian^3, we all know that, but, when symbian^4 come out, which according to their road map, it's gonna be sometime next year, will this phone be supported? or it will just be another abandoned phone that is stucked with the premature OS
actually symbian by itself it's quite stable, seeing how 256MB ram is able to run 64 apps at the same time, the OS kernal is both good in resource management, and also stable enough to run 64 apps. I wish they would:
>>polish more on the UI(better, more fluid theme effects, cool gallery views, multitouch) to deliver better user experience >>increase the flexibility on the OS itself (can set default app for specific file type) >>fully support on hardware acceleration, which they eventually will in Symbian^4 >>much responsive, right now is ok, but it can be improved. >>supports more video format, although h264 is supported, but some popular formats like .avi or core-avc is not supported still

QUOTE(stimix @ Apr 29 2010, 10:56 PM) Yeah..from the promotional proffesional photos & videos...It's almost similar to Pana LX3 already wth is just a rank below DSLR... My photos & videos just to show those non belivers that a cam phone can't even beat a RM300 cheapo digicam haha ya, i was amazed that the quality is so much alike to my LX-3 when i see the actual pictures...i suspected they used some DSLR and drop quality + bump ISO to get some noise and claim is N8's shot..but i guess it's possible with the large sensor... honestly, if u ask me, this one is even better then most point and shot camera out there, somemore aperture is 2.8, can get dim environment shots also
