ooh, i see.. nod.gif . so even we used lacquer based top coat, it doesn't effect acrylic paint beneath it. of course, after primer and drying it..  biggrin.gif

i have different experience n opinion: if your base is acrylic (eg Hobby Color aquinos), spraying with lacquer spray can instantly cause reaction. Mebbe tamiya's acrylic is stronger than Hobby Color (Gunze), but the theory should be the same.

I once did a white color fuel tank with hobby color, once i spray the grey can (Mr color lacquer top coat) on top, instantly i can see pokka dots on the fuel tank's white paint......

Gundam Markers ink is what base?
I have problem with Gray colour Gundam Marker, when i sprayed Mr Clear Gloss over it, the gray turned whitish
whitish not as in frosting, but the colour fading
only large exposed area the gray colour faded, the corners still retain the colour

Think you should look for those labelled with "TS" one and not those with "PS" ones... The "PS" one if not mistaken is for RC car bodies etc. Also, if its white, avoid buying the "Pure White" Tamiya spray. Some top coats on it will make it turn yellow-ish a bit.

Hi guys. I'm actually kinda new on this painting and glossing for Gundam Kits. Would like to ask what are these items actually use for and how to apply?

Mr. Super Clear Flat 170ml B-514
Mr. Super Clear Glossy 170ml B-513
Mr. Super Clear Semi Glossy 170ml B-516

Also, 3M SoftBack Sanding Sponge SuperFine1000/UltraFine1200/MicroFine1500

better use spray can.. coz hand painting have bad brush stroke if you dont use retarder
no need to buy top coat.. the color already have glossy effect unless you buy flat colour

buy metallic color since it look good on your MS tank

based on my experience, you need to buy and apply primer spray or the paint may chipped off
can try use on unused runner to try out.. i also newbie in spray colour so cannot help you much sweat.gif

my way
primer> silver >any metallic color

got people did it... can ask him for assistance
