Geee, 2.67Ghz on stock cooling? That's just crazy man! Hopefully my 3500+ could do as good too with water cooling. Mine should be arriving on Thurs or Fri, just in time for the weekend

@prodigy, There is a category for benchable clock speed (PI screenshot will do as a proof)..
@ De_cruelz, sydney is not that cold right, perhaps a few degrees cooler than Malaysia..but when its hot there, its hotter than Msia isnt it...so i guess u will be facing the same problem mate.. At stock cooling, the highest i manage is 2.57 Ghz prime stable..more than that will fail prime instantly no matter what vcore applied..temp rise to more than 62 degrees when priming. Hyper6 does manage to cool down my temp to less than 54degrees at full load.. And one more, if i add bootable clock speed, is it okay.. all we need is cpu-z verified screenshot.. |

PCcrazy, you're right about the weather being hotter in Malaysia but that's only during summer
Now it's autumn in Sydney. So temps have dropped a lot and at the moment, my room ambient temp is 26C which is pretty cool. My 2600+ Mobile is currently idling at 33C and max load is 36C Can't wait till winter when ambient temps drop to single digit numbers EDIT: Btw, bootable screenie sounds good too! Just so we have a rough idea how much further their CPU's can go with better cooling and higher vcore's This post has been edited by De_Cruelz: Mar 30 2005, 02:39 PM |

Niceee! Let the results roll in
Gotta have to find some time to dismantle my water cooling system to temporarily power my SLI-DR. My 3500+ should be arriving tomorrow or Friday latest. Hopefully my modded Trueblue is sufficient to power it temporarily. |

Strange though, ur highest bootable is benchable? u should able to boot higher than benchable speed..i can boot at 2.8 but didnt manage to bench though. The highest speed i manage to bench is 2.72 Ghz only.

U mentioned that u set the vcore at 1.6v, but then the screenie show that it is only 1.4v.. R u sure u give the exact vcore. Good news if the vcore is only at 1.4. That means there is more potential to be unleashed from that winnie. My winnie overclocks 100 Mhz more by raising the vcore to 1.6

QUOTE(De_Cruelz @ Mar 30 2005, 02:38 PM) PCcrazy, you're right about the weather being hotter in Malaysia but that's only during summer here in miri, a typical hot day temp would be at least 40'C outside, because we're quite near to the sea. i still remember somewhere around august last year while having our drag race event, the temp was exceeding 50'C in the hot sunny afternoon! that was measured using Nokia 5210 Now it's autumn in Sydney. Just so we have a rough idea how much further their CPU's can go with better cooling and higher vcore's currently my room temperature is at 31'C with aircond and fan off, just windows opened edit: sorry for being off-topic This post has been edited by soulfly: Mar 31 2005, 04:29 PM |

According to tips and tricks at XS forum, when u want to overclock ur winnie, u have to disable cool and quiet. Thats why i never try enabling it.
Just now, im so bored to death that i play with cool and quiet setting. Guess what : ![]() it is stable..furthermore its cool..help preserve my proc longer and save electricity So, i have to say this...AMD64 rocks... 30 degrees idle... |

Wow, cool n quiet feature works while the system is overclocked too???
I'm guessing your overclock is 260X10 or higher multiplier but it automatically reduces the multiplier as close to 1Ghz for you(I read somewhere that 1Ghz is the lowest speed while in cool n quiet mode)? |

Not really 1ghz..actually the lowest it can go is x5 multi..
watever htt u apply will be multiply by x5 when idling. im running 260 x 10. Sorry boss...ok installing now..ooops running now.. This post has been edited by PCcrazy: Mar 31 2005, 07:24 PM |

The system is rock stable. But i did try higher HTT(285) with dividers plus CnQ enabled---the result is BSOD before the system boots into window. Yet to try 1:1 at high HTT.

Thats y i posted the Abit Eq picture too. |
