Actually it's been quite sometimes since I wanted to post this thread...
We have highest FSB for amd64, but it doesn't facilitate that much since we know what matters most is the clock speed at the end of the day. biggrin.gif

Honestly I've waited long enough for somebody to open this thread, but to no avail.
So I open it myself. If the mod here (wait, I'm a mod) doesn't see the relevance of this thread, please just throw this thread away without flaming me...: respect:

So the rules are pretty simple:

1. A screenshot of stable prime + cpuz (no need to verify), at least full screen passed test (like what I did below), normally it will take about 3 hrs (small fft) for this to complete. (To be ranked prime stable)

2. An option to show your bench able speed, please attached cpu-z and superPI screenies. (To be ranked benchable)

3. Please specify type of cooling, (air, water, phase change, you name it).

4. This is optional...for those who have the stepping information pls include it with ur results for easy reference..places to be limited to 20 as to make for more competitive database

Solution for low overclock in Windows XP SP2

Disabling DEP system-wide using boot.ini

1. Click Start, and then click ControlPanel.

2. Under Pickacategory, click PerformanceandMaintenance.

3. Under or Pick a Control Panel icon, click System.

4. Click the Advanced tab, and in the Startup and Recovery area, click Settings.

5. In the SystemStartup area, click Edit.

6. In Notepad, click Edit and then click Find.

7. In the Findwhat field, type /noexecute and then click FindNext.

8. In the Find dialog box click Cancel.

9. Replace the policy_level (for example, "OptIn" default) with "AlwaysOff" (without the quotes).

WARNING: Be sure to enter the text carefully.

Note: Your boot.ini file switch should now read:

/noexecute=AlwaysOff

10. In Notepad, click File and then click Save.

11. Click OK to close StartupandRecovery.

12. Click OK to close SystemProperties and then restart your computer.

In 2k and XP SP1 I could clock up to 9 x 324 (2.9 Ghz)

In XP SP2, I could barely hit 9 x 300 (2.7 Ghz) and that was with a different HAL.

Some other forumers also conclude success from this tweak...

So what is DEP? It is some kind of protection to prevent malicious code from running. Some suggested that the win actually telling the system to not boot due to incorrect clock speed reported. However rumours says this tweak is for DFI and venice combo. But others who got stuck at very low overclock might want to have a go at the tweak.

Guys, if you have tried or wanted to, don't forget to put some feedback here. Will put my feedback later, hopefully I can achieve more speed (which I doubt so). DFI owners, pls have a go... thumbup.gif

Like ive mentioned before. A full screen test (like what ive did) or up to 3 hrs prime test.
There is no need to prime stable in order to be in the ranks. But i will not mentioned in ur ranks that the clock speed is prime stable.

pccrazy edit on 1st page to ask them to provide the stepping and production date of proc too, so u wont have to ask each of them. i will submit mine later still looking for the highest mine stable huhu.still not satisfied with 2.4 hehe.

2610 Mhz @ 1.6v

and

2620 Mhz @ 1.65v

and....fail prime after an hour @ 2630 Mhz @ 1.65v...
going for 1.7v this time for 2630 Mhz..

it looks like my target of 2650 mhz is pretty hard to reach at safe vcore..
my prediction is I need 1.80 - 1.85 to reach 2650. my winnie is average clocker to say the least..

my newcastle 754 get's heat up easily especially during load.

sorry din run prime test as i heard running stress test it self might shorten the life of the cpu. i highly doubt my cpu can be prime stable at this speed.

currently running 24/7 on

2080Mhz 260*8 ( stock speed ) @
1.43Vcore ( below stock ) @
aircool @
idle 36 load 45

jz a suggestion to Pc_Crazy maybe it would be good to include the idle and load temp for the current ( benching or priming ) system they are on. Jz my 2 cent.

Ur suggestion to include temp is good. But since many mobos temp monitoring system are not reliable, i dun think it is necessary. However u can submit it with ur results jus for reference but to put in the rankings together really is not necessary.

btw, shadow, running prime will not hurt the proc, that, I can guarantee you. Unless provided you are running out of spec vcore and temp. 1.7v and 60 degrees below is a safe bet on AMD64.
