2) The HXY (HexInYu) Charger for 18650 Li-ION also seems to work well with IMR 18500s (with spacers). It will terminate at 4.20v and then settles to ~4.19v an hour later.
You take the ~4.19V reading while cell still in charger or off charger?

The E and L series cannot be bored for 18mm cells (18650 etc) because there is not enough wall thickness. Only the C/P/Z/M/D series can.

Some 17670's or RCR123(16340)'s also can't fit. Depends on your luck on the internal diameter of the body or the diameter of the cell (some cells are a bit larger even if they are of the same brand). You could get the light first and go to gadgetworld2u to test and see which AW cells can fit.

Off charger. Sometimes one cell will show 4.18v, off charger and rested.

I can test next time if there's trickle charge smile.gif

thanks mate. I did a few tests some time back on WF139 that I bought from GW2U, I purposely left the AW18650, Panasonic Unprotected 18650, IMR 16340 in the charger for more than 3 hours+ after the light turns green. the Voltage read 4.1xV after pull out from the charger. thumbup.gif

Cool, your WF-139 charger is the updated one with no trickle charge and terminates correctly. Mine's still the old one though. It charged my IMR 18500s up to 4.32v the first time doh.gif AW did warned about the older charger having different termination point with different battery internal resistance rclxub.gif The IMR 16340 terminates at 4.22v, which was still "OK" according to AW (+/- 0.5v) specifically to IMRs.

wave.gif Hello arold88, take a look at post #2 of this thread >> http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=33115831, you will find a handful of local flashlight dealers.
Don't worry too much on finding the best, as there are really no best flashlight around, but you will be doing fine to get a good flashlight from brands like Fenix, EagleTac, NiteCore, 4Sevens, Olight, LumensFactory, JetBeam, etc.
We may be able to recommend you a few specific models if you could let us know your usage, battery preference, EDC or otherwise.
You can visit GW2U to personally handle some of the models yourself before making a decision, or you could join us for upcoming gathering.

Hi arold88,

If you have a specific use, you can tell us and we'll help you. But for general purpose and would like to "finally own a real LED flashlight", here's some suggestion for you to look at around RM150 or below:

1) Fenix LD01 (3 modes) - 1x AAA battery = RM135
2) Fenix TK20 Neutral White (Dual mode) - 2x AA battery = RM175 (This light is like a tank, bigger in comparison with common 2x AA lights) - Check out comparison and detailed review http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=214890
3) EagleTac P100A2 Neutral White (Dual mode) - 2x AA = RM160 with standard kit
4) Fenix E05 (single mode) - 1x AA battery = RM80

My first "high-powered" LED light was a single AA, Fenix LD10 (RM200+ that time). I told myself that I will only need 1 LED light. Once you get the taste of its beauty, there's no turning back tongue.gif

I have more than 10 flashlights now, big, medium, small, with so many battery setups (18650, 18500, 17670, AA, 123) biggrin.gif Welcome to the hobby and interest for flashlights! They are not just for collection, shelf queens but they are real stuff, real tools smile.gif

Let me recommend! Wahahaha!

If you don't know what I'm talking about, either pick what you know or do more research. =D Prices U need to check yourself. I might be wrong.

1st, pick your battery. AA NiMh, CR123A, 14500, 16340, 17670, 18650, AAA
2nd, pick your size. Keychain(ish), EDC, Utility (Small > Big)

Feel free to add if I miss any. This is by no means comprehensive, you are required to do your own research. =)
