So I was told my place don't have 4mb sad.gif

But it seems I'm capped at 2mb and using ADSL2+?

Anyone with 4mb line post their adsl info up? Wanna compare and see the differences.

Above is mine, I should be able to do 4mbps right? Streamyx guys told me I can't sad.gif, not supported in my area...?

I guessed the so called "Streamyx guy" just simply giving outdated answer to you.

I suggest you should double check with YoungMan, or other Streamyx agents in this forum, just inform them your phone line number & new screenshot of ADSL parameters.

After received positive answer from him, I went to TM Point again, insisted to take 4Mbps & requested them to process. However, there will be some interruption if the phone line is not stable, but I took my chance and got the 4Mbps successfully.

True.

In reality, it depends on port availability as well as technical testing. This is what TM will tell you, and this is the best answer you can get without visiting TM point.

Best to head to TM point and check for availability, and wait for technical testing.

Gah, could be due to no port availability then. But I'm already hooked up to 2Mb ADSL2+ port. Hmm, but then my dad was like making huh hah and asking me to stick to 1Mb sad.gif

I've asked twice, and the first answer they give is, "we can't check for you, only our technicians can".

Anyway, will get my new TM Homeline installation tomorrow, then we will see how things goes. Since there is are Cybercafes about 500M from my house, I don't see why 4Mbps can't be supported.

here is the rule of Thumb for Computing world:
1 Byte = 8 bit(s) biggrin.gif
1 Mbps = 128 kBps = 1024 kbps
*
In data communications, a kilobit is a thousand bits, or 1,000 bits. It's commonly used for measuring the amount of data that is transferred in a second between two telecommunication points. Megabit per second is usually shortened to Mbps.
