Can iPhone 3GS be upgraded from OS3.0 to OS4.0?

A lot of discussions here about iPhone 4G or iPhone HD. Although it will surely be using OS4.0 but I think the event is about OS, not the new iPhone 4G with its hardware or spec.

Previously older version of iPhone and iPod are able to upgrade their firmware to latest firmware?

like last time.... iphone 3g can use 3.0 fw... i do not see any problem for iphone 3gs with 4.0fw...

can upgrade de la.. because 3g also can go until 3.1.2.. 3gs can go to 4.0 de

OS 4.0 sure will give some clues on what iphone 4th gen is

so far all iphones n ipod touch can upgrade to the latest firmware. since the next iphone is likely to be based on the same cortex A8, so it should be a smooth upgrade

the event is about OS and not new model of iphone. we just PREDICT with new OS come out, sure new model of iphone will b out soon..we not saying the event about new iphone too

Obviously next generation iPhone will be using iPhone OS 4.
Hence, the sneak peak of iPhone OS 4 will definitely list out more details for the next generation iPhone. In case it supports higher resolution, means there's a chance for the next iPhone to support it too.

Anyway, i think the iPhone OS 4 will focus on iPad at the moment.

hopefully our telco will offer attractive plan for the New iPhone...

I can see many hoping for multitasking and hd support.wat bout bluetooth transfer? If jailbreaking cn do it,i blif it will be piece of cake for apple

i heard someone said that they r going to charge some $ for the latest OS. a friend told me...is it true? anyone heard anything about it? or just my friend blurr...

oh gous.. i think impossible bcos if charge money i think people will just stay at 3.1.2 rather to pay..

it depends...if the features and upgrades it offer is well worth,y not rather than u spend a few Ks more on a new iphone

i think the charges only apply to ipod touch or mayb iphone 3g
