Now the news is about OS 4.0 and the event is to introduce about OS4.0

Can iPhone 3GS be upgraded from OS3.0 to OS4.0?

A lot of discussions here about iPhone 4G or iPhone HD. Although it will surely be using OS4.0 but I think the event is about OS, not the new iPhone 4G with its hardware or spec.

Previously older version of iPhone and iPod are able to upgrade their firmware to latest firmware?

They must bring out the news and introduction to capture some of the potential buyers who are slowly shifting into other latest model of smartphones by other company.

By making these announcements, they could bring up the heat back to iPhone after a year, with so many new releases of other smartphone earlier this year. Buyers will stop and stay in observation stance.

If Apple could offer better and more attractive OS, then people will wait and stop the market of HTC, Google and etc.

Steve did mentioned that "will be shipped in Summer" or something like that.

I wonder if they are selling it. =P A new OS, where you have to buy from store or online to install. Just wild guess. Check the conference, he did mentioned about shipping.

Maybe I missunderstand the term used.

Because iPhone 3G hardware is unable to support the multi-tasking function?

What fair or not about it?

I don't they will allow you to force the iphone using the multitasking function with sluggish and lagging performance. Later how are they going to sell the phone equipped with OS 4.0?

Come buy iPhone 3G at store with sluggish performance and lags? If the hardware is not good enough to support it then it can't be done. Just get better phone.

Then it is fair =P

Sorry to ask this silly question. Is it the same update of iOS4 that we get for both itune update and gm restore? Kinda worried. Hehe. The restore method by downloading from external link is legal right? Shift+click and select the restore file. But so far so good. Just worried.

If you already installed with iOS4GM and your iTune already identify your iPhone as updated them how do you get the iTune to update it for you again? I plugged in and it says it is the latest version. Wakaka. Fast growing thread.
