According to those news, apple has certified that multitasking is in the list of the feature of iPhone os4. I also hope that this will be included in the new os.
Btw just want to ask when apple announce new os, can we just update it through iTunes? Sorry I am a new iPhone user and wonder whether those updates will be available for existing iPhone user.

Developer Preview version is likely to be made available during WWDC. Of which is very likely the same chaos as the last time with 3.0 is gonna happen again, with people downloading copies off BT, upgrading and finding that they cannot authorize their phones without a developer account and cannot revert back to the previous OS, etc once again.

Now the news is about OS 4.0 and the event is to introduce about OS4.0

Can iPhone 3GS be upgraded from OS3.0 to OS4.0?

A lot of discussions here about iPhone 4G or iPhone HD.  Although it will surely be using OS4.0 but I think the event is about OS, not the new iPhone 4G with its hardware or spec.

Previously older version of iPhone and iPod are able to upgrade their firmware to latest firmware?

n not only got front camera only can video call..my previous phone, n6630 can make video call by camera at the back..
but i think current iphone hardware not support video call

I always think that if, by any chance Apple is going to introduce video call, it must be something really good.

And good does not mean come from Apple alone, but the network that support such capability must be excellent as well.

Case in point, video call on current 3.5g still have serious frame rate issue, and voice lag of about 2-3 seconds.

The new HTC Evo released recently in US has a 1.3MP front camera for a very good reason. It's a Wimax phone.

So unless iPhone 4G brings any network enhancement in the form of LTE or the lesser probability of Wimax, I don't think this feature will ever be released.

Video call needs matured technology, before it can work beautifully.

those are hardware bro. thats why i said, unless they have major changes in their hardware then it is not worth to change from 3gs to the new one.

Just to note, in case there's those who itchy fingers and downloaded the beta from BT (there's bound to be those who'll put it there), installing it without a developer account will more or less brick your phone, 'cause you won't be able to authorize the firmware after installing. And there's no way to go back either. The only way to restore your phone then will be to wait till the 4.0 actual release.

The same thing has happened during the 3.0 beta days

@dvlz, everyone is anticipating it to be released in Malaysia widely around September.

g3n0c|d3 I reckon it would come out in July for Australian users, but I think it would be a locked set tied to a service provider, I am not too sure though.

Buying an iPhone has got nothing to do with the software & technology crap.  Simply it is 'THE' phone to be seen with, the 'IN' thing.  It is just like buying LV bags, going green etc etc
