QUOTE(julchin_09 @ May 23 2010, 03:43 PM) Welcome Chidori. Added you to the list. What specs did you get anyways? hi there,If you ask me, better to stick to your GTX 260M than the ATI 5850 at the moment. But your temps are pretty high I must admit... I play my games pretty intense and never stinge on the performance and the details. So I max out my resolution and details settings whenever I can. METRO 2033, CRYSIS WARHEAD are the few games which really stress the GPU. Before I got my GPU (260M) Replaced with a new one with a new heatsink, my old HIGH TEMPS of a MAX or 92C has dropped to 85C. Even during normal gaming the old 260m gets about the mid 70s to 80 most of the time and rarely goes beyond 81 or 82 even when I overclock the 260M. I attribute it to my newer FAN + HEATSINK which DELL REPLACED for me about 1month back. Ever since then my temps have been really good with OC. CPU Temps is 50s to mid 60s while gaming..... thanks for the welcome ^__^ mine i7 720qm, 4gb ddr3, 260gtx, nebula red, 9 cell bat wah thanks for the information.... dell repaced yours with new heatsink? how to request them to change? hehe QUOTE(kuekwee @ May 23 2010, 04:04 PM) QUOTE(Mr.Docter @ May 23 2010, 04:21 PM) QUOTE(EvilDevil118 @ May 23 2010, 04:21 PM) Visit HWMonitor Or Realtemp Both also quite good but I think realtemp got newer version. 75 for CPU is quite high innit? It must be at full load for a while to achieve those temps if u ask me.
For me, I got my GPU and HEATSINK changed due to it giving temp problems and the fact I experienced Particles in game. I related my experience to the DELL TECH and had to do various tests for them to confirm this. But then when they come over, the actual technicians seem to be more knowledgable and they come with the full replacement parts for me GPU, MOBO, THERMAL PADS, HEATSINK , FAN, CPU Proc even.... I don';t know why but they brought it all and I even told them not to change all especially my GPU which was doing great so far. With the new HEATSINK, It looked much more shinier than the previous one and maybe this time the thermal pads and paste contact was better than the last time which is why I am getting lower temps now. With stock clock settings, the GTX 260M doesn't go over 80c during hardcore gaming. Compared to last time when it normally averages around 85c above and touches 92c. Now when I overclock I get a max of 87c which I am mighty happy about. On my air con and the temps drops even further so you get the picture. Sometimes its not the parts which are faulty but instead the contact between the CPU GPU Proc and the thermal paste or pads are not good........
