Hi there,

Please add me to M15X owner list.

Sadly my GPU was burnt and have been replaced a few weeks ago >_<

Want to ask you all during full load what temp you guys normally reach?

My temps readngs during full load:
CPU - 68-72
GPU - 90-94

@julchin_09
you sig M15x -> 5870 DDR5, does this means you mod it like the guys in notebookreview forum?
why there is 260GTX + ATI 5870?

m15x only 1slot pcie so cant be sli or cf.
U can order 5870gc from ebay and self upgrade. Tis wil void ur warranty and of cos the heatsink fan wil not suit u.

Anyone wan to ext warranty can pm me. Tqvm

that's why i'm curious why he put 260gtx+5870......

is there a way to get hold of an 5850 ddr5 directly from dell? i'm worried that my 260gtx will be fried soon because of the high temp >__<

if u get 5850 from dell, ur wallet sure will bleed 1.... by the way GTX260M is still better than 5850 in most of the field
*
sadly my 260gtx fried just a few weeks ago >__<

they change my whole system, mobo, gpu etc......
when they're changing i ask them to use my as3 thermal paste though

after they fixed my system, my alien fx flashing issue with new command center seems to be fixed...... it's strange because my old M15x mobo was already flash to a05 bios and new cc alienfx bios too

well, lucky my 260gtx was fried i should say, lol

my last game before my 260gtx was fried is AvP 2010... maybe too brutal killing enemies, 260gtx also being killed together

perhaps i should call dell and explain to them my high temp so that they can change to 5850? i do notice that 5850 is cheaper than 260gtx by usd100 in dell us site. i think 5850 ddr5 will be faster than gtx260m and runs cooler too after going through some reviews

but still i'm uneasy with the temp of 90C ++ ..... >_<

I don't think high-end GTX 4xx will fit the M15x already. The GTX 480M power consumption and size already too much...waiting for the mid-range ones- 460M etc.

But what about the 380M ar? hmm.gif
+1. I think I will sooner upgrade my HDD to SSD than my graphics.
*
if upgrade to ssd, the 500gb will put to ext 2.5, lol

just wondering, do you find the razer imperator very small? i'm still looking for a mouse to replace my current one

want to get an sidewinder x8 but cant find a unit to test it, tried g500 and love it but the hyperscroll thing ticks me off as my old vx rev hyperwheel become no more hyper already after only 1 year++ >__<

I think u need to be corrected, unless it's those unknown unit from overseas, all can be upgraded, but price is definitely higher than wut u customise from online. Btw afaik 3 years warranty from overseas is covered by malaysia as well provided u do the ownership transfer. Make sure u check ur service tag b4 u purchase even those unit from overseas or retailer usually u can get info from the tag.

If u got the complete cover u can nego with the support, like say the bright pixel or dead pixel is makin u unable to perform ur work. Those with higher paid warranty usually can bargain it off. But it depends on how good ur bargaining skills is. Malaysia i am not sure but overseas they have very high customer satisfaction rate. But no doubt our malaysian people if dun care then sure they won't bother. Depends how serious we make our problem seems to be usually if u escalate ur case u might get lucky. But due to typical malaysian mind some do take for granted hence most supports will ignore or even brush off if u just mention ur screen got bright pixel or dead pixel. Best is to mention the screen is blurry, givin images, dims, or having dark spots. If they see it's a serious case they might change the panel for u coz the problem is not the dead pixel or bright spot it's the panel.  brows.gif

I hope nobody will take advantage of this as I heard from the dell support technician some do take advantage of it by claiming for items which totally don't have any fault.  rclxub.gif

Use my line last time got 2 particles of habuk in the LCD.

"Here's the dust particles mentioned. It looks really obvious when on white background and good lighting and really annoying for me to enjoy my Dell experience comfortably."

Company nowadays, they seem to market the whole idea of experiences with them are the best. So by saying that, it helps.

Nope. It's okay for me. I still own a DeathAdder (1st gen) and the Imperator doesn't "fill up" my hand like the DeathAdder does, but it's not small by any standards. Worth the RM279 I paid for it. Adjustable buttons are nice but you'll most probably only use them once and leave it there.

i'm actually thinking abt the deathadder refresh, hehe
prefer bigger mouse

Added on May 23, 2010, 12:42 pmby the way, any M15X users to share their CPU and GPU temp readings?

Welcome Chidori. Added you to the list. What specs did you get anyways?

If you ask me, better to stick to your GTX 260M than the ATI 5850 at the moment. But your temps are pretty high I must admit... I play my games pretty intense and never stinge on the performance and the details. So I max out my resolution and details settings whenever I can. METRO 2033, CRYSIS WARHEAD are the few games which really stress the GPU. Before I got my GPU (260M) Replaced with a new one with a new heatsink, my old HIGH TEMPS of a MAX or 92C has dropped to 85C. Even during normal gaming the old 260m gets about the mid 70s to 80 most of the time and rarely goes beyond 81 or 82 even when I overclock the 260M. I attribute it to my newer FAN + HEATSINK which DELL REPLACED for me about 1month back. Ever since then my temps have been really good with OC.
CPU Temps is 50s to mid 60s while gaming.....

hi there,

thanks for the welcome ^__^

mine i7 720qm, 4gb ddr3, 260gtx, nebula red, 9 cell bat

wah thanks for the information.... dell repaced yours with new heatsink? how to request them to change? hehe

what software can i see my gpu/cpu temperature?
*
QUOTE(Mr.Docter @ May 23 2010, 04:21 PM)
CPUID HWMonitor is most precise.

Speedfan have Graph Inteference, which is kinda cool laugh.gif

QUOTE(EvilDevil118 @ May 23 2010, 04:21 PM)
Visit HWMonitor Or Realtemp Both also quite good but I think realtemp got newer version. There's other monitoring software available as well.

QUOTE(yeezai @ May 23 2010, 04:35 PM)

*
there are many monitoring s/w...... i'm using everest ultimate, quite nice because can put the temp readings as sidebar gadgets
