you will get the HD channels with the packages you subscribe to.

if you dont have sports package, you cannot watch ESPN or Supersport HD.

another thing on PVR FAQ is that:

IF you have a recording of a certain channel, example, ESPN HD, you must be subscribed to sports to continue to watch previous recordings. if you cancel sports, you cannot even watch what you record.
*
aihz... another ripoff point... they should allow us to watch our old recordings regardless if we now unsubscribe it or not... because what matters is... we did subscribe and pay for the channel when we record....

Really confused now, wanna get new PVR or just buy the external HDD?? hmm.gif

With the new PVR box - pay RM300 -> U got 2 receivers, 500GB internal HD, rm10/month fee.
or
With existing byond box -> pay nothing for installation, got 1 receiver, buy external HDD (500GB = RM300), rm5/month fee.

Either case, you need to fork out Rm300 to start off.
I'd prefer the first option - more elegant solution, no ext HDD. What RM60/year of difference can buy you these days? smile.gif

I'd agree if they allow us to play only on the specific PVR box where the materials are recorded, but I don't agree if we cannot watch the materials if the channels are no long subscribed. This is riff-off!

IF you take Byond PVR box, you will have to pay RM300 to the installer but you must return back your old decoder to them. Rm10 will be charged into your monthly bill together with RM20 for Byond HD service.
*
Additional of RM10 on top of the RM20 HD fee for dual tuner PVR box
or additiona of RM5 on top of the RM20 HD fee for the existing Astro b.yond decoder (single tuner)

With dual tuner, you can watch one channel while recoding others.

Anyway I just signup for the dual tuner PVR at Mid Valley, which they are currently promoting PVR at north court (outside Jaya Jusco)

Here's the leaflet I took back, just to share with you guys. Anyway I am glad to see AXN HD and FX HD, still on my waiting list:

Discovery HD
StarWorld HD
StarMovie HD
Cinemax HD

Not 2 receiver, 2 tuner.
Existing byond box, only 320GB not 500GB.
But I wonder if we plug in WD My Passport 500GB or 640GB, is it not working? & If let say we change to another HDD is it just plug n play or activation based on HDD serial no? hmm.gif

500GB comes preinstalled with new Byond PVR. If you are using current Byond, you can only use WD Pasport 320GB at this moment. wink.gif
