Additional of RM10 on top of the RM20 HD fee for dual tuner PVR box
or additiona of RM5 on top of the RM20 HD fee for the existing Astro b.yond decoder (single tuner)

With dual tuner, you can watch one channel while recoding others.

Anyway I just signup for the dual tuner PVR at Mid Valley, which they are currently promoting PVR at north court (outside Jaya Jusco)

500GB HDD is currently available for Astro's own dual tuner PVR.

All the recorded data are encrypted via the Astro sim card which based on NDS. Unless you're able to crack the encryption code.

guess Astro found new way to increase their profit margin..... similar to AirAsia... hahah... soon they might charge you for having the remote control

Added on June 1, 2010, 2:44 pmYou can try, but I bet they control it via its firmware... but honestly Astro need to do something about those SD channel... the compression is way too high... maybe with DVB-S2 standard which currently HD channels on... we'll have better luck... but than... 5 - 10 years later?

Anyway RTM has been testing with DVB-T for years.... I still can receive those channel via my HTPC... but who watch RTM anyway..... oh by the way 2 years ago RTM broadcast 2008 Beijing Olympic in HD, wonder if they will be broadcasting World Cup in HD as well....
