it's not 500gb , only 320gb at the moment , a lot of info in their FAQ, take note 100gb will be reserved for their future VOD to be launched in the future

In their faq,
52. Can I transfer the recorded programme on my Astro B.yond PVR or Ext. HDD to an extarnal dervice? No. All television programmes are subject to copyright licensing restrictions.
