Why would the apartment management have to pay for the upgrade? Astro are the ones who will be charging people MYR20 a month and making money from the investment, so logically they should pay for the upgrade.

I guess they are doing the survey to see if its worthwhile to do the upgrade. If theres only 4 or 5 people interested in HD, sorry, but they aren't going to install it. Tough. Next time, buy a house XD

that did crossed my mind, but the thing is, the current Centralized dish was provided by management/developer..definitely not Astro. probably it is suppose to be a service to be provided by the developer/building management.

but i do believe, for upgrade like these, Astro would have chipped in a little bit

Astro won't subsidize for the upgrading work. Read post from Astro4Life, he is Astro installer.
So, building management need to upgrade lor if Astro won't since they don't allow individual dish

Hmmmm, just wonder is it under housing act that individual dish is not allow or just the self-make rule by condo/apartment management?

This is complicated, imagine that:
The installer quote (from Astro ??) to --> The management, then quote/charge (mark-up??) to --> The condo/apartment users rclxub.gif

I cannot really understand, paying is one thing already, but it seem like our condo/apartment friends somemore need to "beg" for it doh.gif

I would think in the end apartments are going to say to tenants 'look, if you want HD you're going to have to chip in'. Say there's 20 floors, 4 tenants per floor (80 in total) I wouldn't be surprised if they say that each tenant has to pay MYR 2500 each in order to access astro after they do the installation work.

I think its ridiculous, and since astro will be making revenue from the investment its only fair that they chip in for the majority of the costs.

Oh well, I'm glad I don't live in a flat biggrin.gif

Called Ass 2 days ago to upgrade Fun pack bcos my children wanted it for school hols. Guess what until today not upgraded. I just called them one Ass told me " permintaan upgrade terlampau banyak kena tunggu akan ambil masa !" So i asked how if i cancell the request they said can but RM10 wld be imposed. doh.gif Like I saids Ass rules us we hv no choice, so if you guys wanna upgrade sports do it now if not you wld be in the waiting list like Beyond ! Maybe they wld upgrade after WC ! vmad.gif After WC Im gonna slash my bill to half for sure.

Dont call them..they always KIV and delay our request..
Just do it online..the request will be done in 24 hours..

Astro will only charge RM10 to us if we downgrade the package.... sweat.gif

Only if u reduce or downgrade package u will be charged RM10

I'm also have trying upgrading my package through online form in their website,
and you know what, it takes 2 days for them to done it! And surpriseingly, they called me first for confirmation rclxub.gif
but don't sure now, maybe the process now have different from that time. BTW, I'm doing it about 3 years ago... tongue.gif
