Saw the P50U unit at Sunway roadshow. Wanted to get one but end up not going for it anymore. Will look for other brands.

Really dissapointed with the unit.

Done, paid for the P42V20 at Homedec.. Now waiting 20th May for delivery.

Congrats bro. What time you bought it? When I was there around 12 noon, only 3 units left out of the 20 units allocated to the reseller. I didn't jump in to buy cos still have some reservations.

Was expecting the 2010 series to be much better but quite dissapointed.

Too long to elaborate but just not my cup of tea.

At Homedec, they lined up the 50U with the 42V side by side. The colours on the 50U looked a bit washed out compared to the 42V. Could be the settings, though. But the 42V was certainly eye-popping.

Bought it around 2.30pm... when i got it there's only one left.. as so they said..might be a marketing gimmick... i dunno.

Was tempted with 50u for it's size but as you mentioned.. that washed out colors turn me away.. also maybe because my av room is a bit small and it might be overkill for 50"... then again it might be the setting. On the right next to 42v is the LED LCD as well and 42V look better when they played avatar... they said to trust your eyes..and that what i did rclxms.gif

Well, thats too bad. I hope they at least have the Pro options that enables white balance/gresycale and 2D CMS in user menu.

Yeah true. Btw, now after further reading i did noticed that ASIA version is TH-P42V20 while EUROPEAN version is TX-P42V20.

If you guys want to have a preview of the Flagship Panasonic VT20 50", can check it out at Best Denki ( next to Burger King ) in Mid Valley. The 3d looks better to me than the Samsung 7000. Today they were showing Blood Diamonds in 2D.

I think there's no THX or even the ISFccc calibration tool for the Asian V20. A pity. Not sure why they don't put the features here. Perhaps Asian folks here are not "sophisticated" enough? Or perhaps it's the stripped down version to position the price?

Guy in charge told me 14999 inclusive of 1 pair of 3d glasses. Stocks only available mid June if I'm not mistaken.

The new 42X28 series in Jusco got promotion. Its 2499 with 5% less, its 2374.

If you are a Juscocard member, you get RM230 in vouchers also to use anytime on anything.

So, its like RM2144 for the Panasonic 42X.

I think Jusco gives 3% rebate after 6 months, so you get RM128 back.

Thus your Panasonic is abt RM2016

Plus you accumulate points on your Jusco card that can be redeemed for other vouchers. So I guess, it falls below the RM2000 psychological mark.

The VT25 is the flagship in the US market. In Europe and in Asia, Panasonic market it as the VT20.

Im goin to move to my new house soon which has a theatre room. Im not sure if its a good idea to have my 50inch in that room or a projector. Pls advice? In terms of quality i found that projector arent that nice color but the size are big of cos.

Since you got a dedicated HT room, I recommend you go for FHD projector. I'm sure you find yr 50" TV is not as big as Day 1, he he.

Yeah you are right. 50inch arent that big after all.. Hehehe. I told the electrician not to do the internal wiring(ceiling-wall) for projector.. seems like i'll have to pay extras for someone to get it done..

Oh yes! The VT50 is a whole lot better than the U. Now the question - how much for the V50? If less than 8k then acceptable. Any guesses how much will it cost?
