Since they aren't bringing in the S20 series to Malaysia, what do you guys think would be a good alternative for a budget FullHD 42" Plasma?

QUOTE(ljchua @ Apr 13 2010, 09:53 AM) If I am not mistaken, the U series is actually full HD, but it only comes in the size of 50". As of the price & avaibility, Panasonic will only make thier big announcement 2 weeks from now. I read a couple of posts before this that the U series will come in 2 sizes, 46" and 50". So I guess the only "entry-level" full HD plasma from panasonic will be the U series. Wonder how much it will cost.....I have in fact brought x28 from seng Heng yesterday for RM 2399 + free wall bracket. Since I am using their plus one credit card, the set comes with extra 2 years warranty, and 2% rebate to my credit card (& free 24 months installment). I guess I have quite a good deal here. Actually I prefer full HD model U series, so the sales man agreed to let me exchange to U series as long as I have not take delivery. So dear forumer, please let me know if you have first hand information on the U series. Thanks in advance. |

If you guys want to have a preview of the Flagship Panasonic VT20 50", can check it out at Best Denki ( next to Burger King ) in Mid Valley. The 3d looks better to me than the Samsung 7000. Today they were showing Blood Diamonds in 2D.

QUOTE(PoorMan @ Sep 25 2010, 01:22 PM) Samsung bdp1600 need to enable 24p playback. Then you have to play a 24p source (can be from mkv/avi from USB, not necessarily from bluray/DVD). Your TV will display 1080p/24. Agreed. Calibration does make a noticeable difference for me too, anfieldude does great calibration on tvs. On a separate matter, some personal feedback, guys. I don't want to oversell but you should try out some kind of professional calibration. It actually does make quite a significant improvement on overall PQ. |
