i have placed my order for Panny's TH-P42X28K, delivery date is 24th April... the salesperson said i can still changed my mind to LG before the delivery if i want to...

I like Panny:
- price about RM200 cheaper than LG
- brand name and reputation?
- supposingly better after sales service

I like LG:
- vivid colors compared to panny
- USB compared to SD card on panny
- additional AV input compared to panny

so wat do u think...? haha... crossroad 99...

@ HOMEDEC fair @ PISA Penang.

Seems like U series is lower than S series.  Not sure why Pana didn't bring new S series into Bolehland, perhaps price point is the strategy.
*
A little bird told me that the P50U20K is the replacement for the P50S10K. Features almost the same.

There will not be a replacement model for the S series.

The V series is higher than the U series because of the enhanced features.

huh? Can we apply that same brilliant reasoning for the following analogy....

A girl says she is scared of going down that lonely lane cause she has heard there were lots of rape cases in that lane. You going to say, "cross the bridge when you come to it,"
*
Off course the girl will not cross the bridge lah!

I think what "reddevil04" meant was why worry over a thing that might or might not happen. Only when it does happened then cross the bridge to find the solution.

Today is what you worry over yesterday.

Thanks

was at equine jusco home depot.

spotted a THP42S10K model there.. but selling at rm3,999 sweat.gif

No 10% discount? Somebody better grab it.

Little bird told me there will not be a replacement model for the FullHD TH-P42S10K, in fact for the whole S series for 2010.

The only FullHD 42" model for 2010 will be the P42V20K with enhanced features (NeoPDP panel, etc) & will cost about RM5K & will be out end of next month.

Thanks

Adding to jitbeng's info, I just came across this that may be helpful in selecting the Panasonic models:

Cnet Asia

V series is THX-certified rclxms.gif ...

and yet can potentially turn grey-ish after 1000 hrs shocking.gif

How does George Lucas hand out his THX certification, one wonders?

Edit: Just noted that the frame for V series panel is actually silvery-white (the only from the line up). Is this to make the black level degradation not so conspicuous? tongue.gif

Of course have to worry. Most consumers make informed decisions and after that, they are stuck with the product whether it has flaws or not for a long time.

The product is bought with hard earned money and not given free, so people expect their product to conform to the initial description of the sales person and the initial inspection before purchase.

If you knew a particular car being sold often blew up or exploded, you would be scared to buy it, whether it happens or not.

As you say, "Might or might not happen".

It would be unfair to the consumer. To make matters worse, most people are not informed consumers, ie they are not techy and read reviews. Few months down the road, they get disappointed.

The decision to buy or not is ultimately left to the consumer. After researching, observing, hearing, learning from others mistake etc etc he/she makes a informed decision to buy.

So if it happens, then report to the Consumer Tribunal, all the relevant gov departments, sue the fellow, even report to the police if applicable. I will do that if it happens to me & I have done it in the past a couple of times.

So if it does not happens, then sit back & enjoy lah"

It is the Consumer decision as I write in para 1. No one is force to buy. It is the Consumer who makes the FINAL decision & whether that decision is a good one or not, he/she is the one who makes the FINAL decision.

If you knew a particular car being sold often blew up or exploded, you would be scared to buy it, whether it happens or not.

Off course not. Like the girl will not cross the bridge knowing the dangers.

By the way bro, I think you may have contradicted yourself. In the first para you said "most consumers make informed decisions" & in the last para you said "most people are not informed consumers".

Thanks

Better get the new ones if can afford... too risky to get the display unit bro... read some thread about how the sales person "treated" the display unit in MV HN (infront of the customer somemore... wonder wat else they do behind the customer)...

Most consumers do not have the privilege of talking in forums, thus, not informed. That is not contradicting.

So, when the average consumer hears from the sales man everything he needs to know and is happy with it, what to do few months down the road, the black becomes grey?

How can the aveage consumer "see the future"?
