im holding on to buy either x10k,x28k and the fhd s10k.

with no news for s10k replacement, it personally think there will be no cheaper than rm3k for fhd plasma.

so final decision, should i take the brand new x28k, the better but older x10k or the older fhd s10k?

The older 2009 FHD S10K no more stock now. Don't know whether Panasonic will bring the replacement 2010 S20K. Read my email petition on this thread Post No: 265 & also email yours if you like regarding this issue. In US the S1 2009 has been replaced by the 2010 S2 & the S2 is cheaper. It should be cheaper if Panasonic bring in the S20K. But instead Panasonic is bringing in the V series with enhanced features & will definitely cost more.

If you don't need FHD then suggest to buy the new X series. It is a lot cheaper.

For myself difinitely go for FHD. If fact I have already bought the S10K last year.

Thanks

Better don't buy the display unit. Price difference of about only RM600 against the new one.

Why not wait for the V series coming end of this month. More enhanced features & should be cheaper.

In US there is a raging discussion on the black level issue for the G10 model.

Thanks

2010 new model U series is an entry level FHD. Guess it's only available for 46" and 50" size (correct me if i'm wrong). price should be cheaper than V series.

anyone know when it will be available and its price?

Seriously, the difference between FHD and HD Ready Plasma depends on your source. ie: Blu_Ray, Astro, DVD or etc.

Then of course, your budget available? But most importantly, trust your eyes.

U series only 50" FHD.

V series 42" & 50" FHD

I think U series 50" FHD will be cheaper than the V series 50" FHD.

Check here for availability http://www.pmpressroom.com/products/press%...eng%20final.pdf

Price should be at the same time.

Thanks

For Astro HDTV is good enough. If I am not mistaken Astro B'yond highest signal now is 720p (correct me if I am wrong).

But if you want to watch Blu-ray at 1080p, then get the FHD TV.

Thanks

For Astro, HD ready is sufficient. Astro transmit in 1080i . FHD waste of money. My advice buy HD ready now(RM2200 42X28) and in the future when Astro/TM transmits in FHD then buy FHD. By then 42in FHD will cost RM 2000 only drool.gif drool.gif
2 TV for the current price of 1 FHD now rclxms.gif

Nope. 3 X HDMI, and the usual component inputs

Like jitbeng said, for Astro viewing, HDTV will suffice, even with Byond, as its signal is 720P or 1080i. And if you spend most of your time on Blu-ray, then of course a FHD would be the better choice. As for me, I made the comparison between HD Ready and FHD Plasma and found that although FHD Plasma has a bit of edge over HD plasma, but my decision was made based on my source and of course the final push was my budget.

This is a very good point. So no point going for FHD when Astro transmits at 720p. Infact, most global satellite players transmit at 720p as the bandwidth for 1080p is double and cannot be handled.

But many people do not know this and waste money buying a FHD. After all, not many people watch Blu-ray a lot. In Malaysia, mostly is Astro.

Thanks for this info as I am now wanting to buy HD Ready only.

Astro's PQ is far beter on a plasma than LCD or LED using non-beyond. That is proven. Even on beyond, its only 5 or 6 channels that is digital, the rest I think is the same analogue as the non beyond. Correct me if I am wrong.

OK here's my humble take:-

FullHD & HD Ready

a) The price difference between the FullHD & HD Ready is not so much. Not like more than RM1K but around RM500-600.

b) When you play BR disc the PQ will be fantastic. As one Forumer reported "eye-popping". BR disc is getting cheaper following the DVD trend.

c) If you surf the Net with the TV like I do then you will see clearly the difference. And you will regret buying a HD Ready.

d) If solely for Astro then no difference. But then if you so happen to pop in a BR you will not get the "eye-popping" PQ.

e) The bigger the TV size the higher the resolution for it to display a sharp picture.

The price of the HDTV will go down in tandem with the HD Ready. If fall to RM2K in a few years time, the HD Ready will also fall to below RM2K. And people will be tempted to buy the HD Ready.

What I do with my FullHDTV:-

Astro:Net Surfing:Xbox 360:Movies DVD/Downloaded:BR = 50%:30%:10%:5%:5%

What I heard :-

TH-P50U20K will be the replacement model for TH-P50S10K & will cost around RM5-5.5K.

TH-P42V20K will cost around RM5K & this is not a replacement model for the TH-P42S10K. There will not be a replacement model for the TH-P42S10K for this year. These models will come out end of next month.

Thanks
