QUOTE(kalido @ Apr 12 2010, 09:37 AM) from what i understand, the black level rises gradually and settles in at around 1k hours at which point apparently the black level appear no longer black but more grey-ish . What u r discussing here is black level rise issue. What u talked about earlier was floating black issue. They are different.Sorry I honestly don't mean to offend or sabotage the thread, just tryin to find out if I was missin out something in the entire panel problem. |

This is a forum and everyone is entitle to his views and comments. And I believe that everyone out there too wish to know that if there is an issue raised, best effect would be the available of supportive facts and datas, like some of the dudes here who would take the trouble to link a site where indept explanantions are available, at least, I would like to know more and monitor if this is a global issue with all Panny panels or if this applies to just the lower end models. Sorry I honestly don't mean to offend or sabotage the thread, just tryin to find out if I was missin out something in the entire panel problem. Since Panny is troubled by this issue, I guess the question is will Panny here willing to cover such problem IF we encounter it within the warranty period? And will they continue to cover those 2+2 kind of extended warranty period ? This post has been edited by klseet: Apr 12 2010, 01:49 PM |

Panny already said the raising black levels are "BY DESIGN". So there is nothing wrong with it.

The swivel stand do come handy at times. how much did you pay for P42X28K? any other free gifts? does it comes with 3 years warranty from panny? since this model is not Full HD, hv you tried watching BD? if yes, how was th PQ when playing BD? pls share as i am also kind of interested in this model. thanks! |

Here is the link...devil - check out this thread - http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1167339 Floating Blacks Rising blacks, the majority of people will not realise this, especially if they do not watch the plasma in the dark. Floating blacks is more of an annoyance, I have seen it on older plasmas/lcd that have some fancy processing. |

QUOTE(rolandhoo @ Apr 12 2010, 02:08 PM) how much did you pay for P42X28K? any other free gifts? does it comes with 3 years warranty from panny? There was a promo in early April by one of the forumer here for just a couple of days and the price was fantastic and simply irresistible not to buy. I seldom watch BD on it as most of the viewing times are on Astro and normal DVDs. However did try it with my PS3, pretty satisfied with the PQ, for this price, no reason to complaint. Furthermore, I just cannot say that if there is a huge difference watching BD on a HD ready and a FHD plasma. It really depends on one's eyes and flavour.since this model is not Full HD, hv you tried watching BD? if yes, how was th PQ when playing BD? pls share as i am also kind of interested in this model. thanks! BTW, it comes with standard 2 years warranty now on e-Warranty. Free Gift is just a Panasonic tumbler (nothing to shout about). There is a promo which is on-going now, til 28 may 2010, Pay RM 2999 with a Panasonic Home Theater then top-up can get a Panasonic camera Lumix F2. |

QUOTE(chewkl @ Apr 12 2010, 01:52 PM) I think that probably make people angry and now Panasonic ended up with lawsuit:http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/technology/992438/ http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-10462551-1.html I was in the middle between Panny & Sammy but I decided to conclude with Sammy now waiting for delivery. Honestly, I really hope Panny at least do something for future batch and to win back the good name & product again. This post has been edited by klseet: Apr 12 2010, 05:55 PM |

Since they aren't bringing in the S20 series to Malaysia, what do you guys think would be a good alternative for a budget FullHD 42" Plasma?

If I am not mistaken, the U series is actually full HD, but it only comes in the size of 50". As of the price & avaibility, Panasonic will only make thier big announcement 2 weeks from now. I have in fact brought x28 from seng Heng yesterday for RM 2399 + free wall bracket. Since I am using their plus one credit card, the set comes with extra 2 years warranty, and 2% rebate to my credit card (& free 24 months installment). I guess I have quite a good deal here. Actually I prefer full HD model U series, so the sales man agreed to let me exchange to U series as long as I have not take delivery. So dear forumer, please let me know if you have first hand information on the U series. Thanks in advance. |

So I guess the only "entry-level" full HD plasma from panasonic will be the U series. Wonder how much it will cost.....I have in fact brought x28 from seng Heng yesterday for RM 2399 + free wall bracket. Someone said the 50" VT will have a RRP of RM19,999. I'd get the 50" Kuro any day over that.
Also, the U series is a entry level 50Hz with 900 lines moving picture resolution. Don't know what it means though (vs 1080 lines)? |
