Hi guys,

I'm new to Plasma, currently planning to get a 42" Plasma need some advice from you expert here.
I read somewhere : http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1167339

May I if this problem also in the new Panasonic P42X28K?
Has anyone bought this unit and encountered such problem?

Appreciate some experience sharing here, thanks in advance!

Yes, 13G Panny's will have the same issue, but the rise in blacks are more gradual.

Will u be able to see it? Yes if u look for it, but mostly only in dim/dark environment. For brighter environment, it might not be so apparent.

But doesn't this defy one of the main purpose of gettin a plasma over a LCD ? The great black levels .
I just had a look at some pics in AVS . It's terrifying , once fully settled in the black levels look worse then some lcds.....WTF blink.gif

Buy Panny 99% chance U get floating blacks. Buy Sammy U can "potentially" get IR.

Choice is yours...unless U got deep pockets, get Kuro. thumbup.gif

emmm....looks like will need to jump wagon to LCD now....lol . Wanted this for my parent's place since I already have a Kuro biggrin.gif

from what i understand, the black level rises gradually and settles in at around 1k hours at which point apparently the black level appear no longer black but more grey-ish .

Sorry I honestly don't mean to offend or sabotage the thread, just tryin to find out if I was missin out something in the entire panel problem.

What u r discussing here is black level rise issue. What u talked about earlier was floating black issue. They are different.

my bad, didn't realize they were two different issues. blush.gif So can u explain more on these issues pls. Pretty sure Pana is suffering from the rising blck level issue.
