i manage to catch a glimpse of the new sammy plasma C450 series and panny X series.

the sammy was a side by side comparison between last year B series and latest C series and except the slimmer bezel of the latest model , everything else looks the same .

the panny new X black levels looks quite impressive for low ends but sammy colors are richer and probably has more features

but i was really impressed with the sammy B550 LCD whose black levels are more impressive than the plasma B650 and the text looks clearer as well. price wise the 52'' Lcd B550 is slightly more expensive than the plasma 50" B650. i believe probably due to the higher contrast of LCD that made it looks better in showroom although its not that brightly lit at the time of viewing

Hi SunnyK,

I also see both C450 & B450 side by side with the same Korean girl dancing MTV, I might be wrong but what I saw was:

In terms of glare/reflection:
C450 has more glare/reflection with single & clear object visibility; whereas B450 can see double-image reflection.

In terms of PQ:
C450 seem to be smoother and slightly more "solid" compare to B450.

Did you notice this as well ?

Actually I've been asking 3 times here about Sammy glare/reflection but seem no one response ...... I just want to confirm whether is my eyes got problem or may be it's the TV setting or ???

maybe the c450 being a new model and the showroom set a higher contrast to attract potential buyers.

but the sammy low end plasma , black level issue aside , the rest of the features , just worth the buck .even the b450 diagonal is at 42.3 inch and the panny older model is at 41.6 inch . the sammy plasma color accuracy or richness is something i like . it has the "pop" feel

"solid" as in built or ??

"solid" as to the picture quality, just more solid & firm compare to B450.
May be you are right, the C450 is new and may be with different setting compared to the B450 which has been there for quite sometime.

Anywhere, did you see double-image reflection on B450 and C450 single & clear reflection image?

Looking at the spec sheet, U series is a joke and there is no S series. V series is too elite for me. So I just secured myself a B650 and from Ms. Chua. rclxm9.gif

actually 2099 is just a promo. Hope it comes back again. Usually the reseller offsets free gifts such as camera etc. I am confident the X will even go down to RM1999 also, so don't worry.

Been using this P42X28K for more than a week now. So far, satisfied with the Picture Quality and overall features for this price. The swivel stand do come handy at times.

from what i understand, the black level rises gradually and settles in at around 1k hours at which point apparently the black level appear no longer black but more grey-ish .

Sorry I honestly don't mean to offend or sabotage the thread, just tryin to find out if I was missin out something in the entire panel problem.
