Hi guys, I'm interested in Forte after looking it on the road...the question is my salary is just ngam2 RM2000...am I eligible to purchase this car? interested in 1.6 SX model...can someone clarify it to me?
*
you can check out 1s page most of the information can be obtian on first post
btw to answer your question please go to :
http://www.autoworld.com.my/v2/tools/loan_affordability.asp

but with 2k really dont recommend you to go ahead with forte unless you have very high deposit eg: 40-50k and a longer term loan.

monthly cost of living (bills, rental , food) - at least RM 800
to own a car this price (service , gas .. insurance) - looking at at least 400 a month
you only have 800 to spend - nto to forget your EPF and savings are a must

so better think properly

how much one can spre, or willing to spare, for buying cars and it's maintainance is very subjective........

some are quite willing to spend a big chunk of their salary, and eat nasi lemak everyday.......

some would be more prudent and start off with cheap 2nd cars and save or invest the extra...........

up to you.........

Actually, the guy, Saiful from Juru Auto City has been quite responsive and attentive. He has been following up with me so far.. maybe too early for me to judge but so far so good.. let;s hope you're not right.
*
You are lucky you chose Saiful. He was not my SA but helped me with my car stuff. Nice & helpful guy.

Called up Careline just now. He said no problem with the invoice number. All service ctrs have been informed about this. Just leave the booklet with them after the svc and they will get a new booklet from HQ.

Not recommended even though he got parent support, someone just got to grow up not spoon feed by parent all the time. No offence but just telling the true, 2k salary after deduct everything, how much does he left? Honestly, even cheap car like BLM also not easy to maintain with that kind of salary.

i got wira SE with that kind of salary before. OTR price is about rm49k.
frankly speaking, its hard to survive

doesn't feel he can afford 1.6SX unless put big downpayment.

agreed, in fact, we should reserved a portion of our salary for our parents.

let me do a simple calculation, as i also been through the period where i get my 1st car wit 1.8k salary:

2k salary after deduct EPF = 1.8k

1.8k let said you stay with parents = RM300 to parents

left 1.5k, everyday breakfast and lunch outside(dinner at home), RM8~10 perday = RM200

left 1.3k, petrol, let said travel 50km perday, one month 1500km, let said FC 8l/100km = rm220

left 1 k, internet, phone, i would said around Rm150~200

left 800, lets not forget the half yearly maintainence of the car....

so i would not recommend to get a car at monthly of paying RM 500 or more......for my case when i get my 1st car, i op for proton saga lmst for 8 years, monthly at 460....then i can save some money....

He can afford it but might suffers later on..unless he can pay high downpayment as what u have said. For RM2k salary, getting a car with monthly installment of RM500 & below seems to be a better option for the time being.

For me, i set my own priority to spend bulk of my money which is buying house & kahwin first..hehe. So what i did before was:
1. Buy a cheaper car first to move around & going to work (so that i can save some of my salary to buy a house & to marry later on) (2001)
2. When got enough money (downpayment) to buy a house, then buy a house + necessary furnishings. (2006)
3. Then kahwin thumbup.gif (2007)
4. Have kid first (so i can calculate my monthly overheads with better accuracy) (2008)
5. Then if got extra money to throw away (after minus all the overheads)...get myself & family a better & safer car wink.gif (2010)
