QUOTE(gavlim @ Jul 10 2005, 05:15 PM) macdanife i think we have the same setup there. the ends of my pipes are pointing away from the pcie slots (ie the front is towards). I initially installed it the other way (pipes towards RAM slots) That blocks the first RAM slot and in addition, there is only a few millimetres clearance btw the Thunderblade fan and the back of my NVidia card. The reverse way (as pictured) is MUCH better.Haven't had a chance to note down temps yet. Am away from the rig during the weekend. For once, I wish I was at work! |

hey moderno, when you flashed your bios to 310, did you have to reinstall windows for everything to run smoothly?
After I updated to 510-3, (finally) the problem was still there. It still freezes at the screen or whenever I opened any files. Even after repair installation also cannot. Maybe clean reinstall can kua..... IS yours like that? This post has been edited by pizzaboy: Jul 10 2005, 07:51 PM |

i really dunno.. cause i'm reporting the temps given by smart guardian (the program found in the software CD given with the mobo).. without aircon, the idle is 28-29C. then i tried prime95, and then folding@home, the temps on full load (100% cpu usage in task manager) is around 33-34C with xp120. i'm thinking there may be something wrong, but if not, then i'm really happy with the temps. i tried touching the heatpipes when on load, but they feel really cool to touch.

finally me crazy DFI is working like a motherboard, instead of screaming around crazily like a 5 year old without candy, it's working calmly like a 80 year old grandmother. |

Normally on load, the heatpipes will be noticably hot when touched. You stay on top of a hill? this one with side panel closed.. ![]() |
