yeah... i m using xp120 oso
it will much more easy to install into slot1/3 if compare to slot 2/4

flash to 6.18-2 BIOS same as mine... then can use slot 1/3 edi
i used this BIOS quite some time liao... can considered stable enuff

ok same problem.. once windows tries to boot (where there is that moving load bar), it will reboot automatically. i cant even get into windows to flash a new bios.

this is what i've tried.

remove power, remove cmos batt, reset jumper, wait a few minutes, replace jumper, replace batt. gold vx in slots 2 and 4.

turn on pc, go into bios, set optimized defaults. save and exit, enter bios again.. but i left everything on auto (including every ram setting.. do i need to up the vdimm if i leave at default? is this the reason why cant boot?)

same thing. reboot automatically at windows startup. tried upping vdimm to 3.00v, left timings everything at auto defaults. still cannot.

i dont think 3-10 BIOS support san-diego [maybe cause the problem]
try to use floppy to flash the BIOS instead of the winflash

says got support for E3 venice and e4 san diego.. ?!

going to try reformat my C: now and see if its due to clash from my old intel 875 chipset mobo.

if it doesnt support e3/e4.. im pretty muched done for since i got no floppy drive

man, seriously stressing me out la this stuff. wanna put in the ram also susah. the thought of trying to remove the xp120 is going to be another big headache i am not looking forward to. should have just put on the stock heatsink first to test test.

huge sigh of relief. after reformatting, everything seems fine.
btw which stuff do u guys install from the provided mobo software cd? i came across stuff like nvidia firewall manager, nvidia forceware manager etc etc. just wallop everything?

bios 3.10p is the best for my system...

gavlim, dont install that nvidia firewall manager if u r 24/7 connected to lan. if i install it, i cant access to my local intranet and lan games

i installed the latest nvidia chipset driver but without the ide driver.

Why does the XP120 block your RAM slots? I installed mine with the pipes facing the PCI slots and all RAM slots are usable. I've got mine in slots 1 and 3 (orange slots). No problems booting whatsoever.

i had almost the exact problem as you did gavlim, but i never found a solution. I believe my value RAM was causing the problems.
Mine sometimes even after I am able to enter windows properly and everythign's done, when i try installing Doom 3 and play for a while, again the same problem happens.

I gave up on this DFI, MSI comin soon. hehehe.

thanks for the headsup i tried installing the firewall manager for fun but looks like it'll be gotten rid of soon.

i installed mine with the pipes facing the ram slots.. had the thought of getting my rams cooled by the overhanging part of the xp120 but looks like its more of a nuisance now.

going to try flash a newer bios now. between 510 and 704, have u guys tried them?

Tried almost all from 125 to 704. 510 and 618 seems to work the best for my TCCDs and TCC5s.

pizzaboy : Flash to the 510 beta bios. Set the Dram Respone Time to Normal.

Here's a pic of the XP-120 with the pipes installed towards the PCI-E slot. My LianLi v1000b has an inverted Mobo so you may have to reorient... The RAM methinks benefits from the airflow from the 12cm thunderblade...

macdanife i think we have the same setup there. the ends of my pipes are pointing away from the pcie slots (ie the front is towards).

can xp-90 / 120 users share their idle and peak cpu temperature...wanna do some comparison here....

venice 250x10 @ 1.45V @ XP-90C @ NMB cheapo 92mm fan @ 36 idle/43 full load (without air cond)
