Does this phone needs to have broadband package like Iphone and Blackberry?

Can it use like Symbian phone so I don't need to spend extra cost for the data plan (eg bis...)

Like ashburn98 said : I will pretty much say any smartphone nowdays should go with a broadband/data package. It's like having a sportscar (smartphone) and not straight highway road on (data usage).

I'm using DiGi SmartPlan since last month, and I do like it. rclxm9.gif

To answer your question directly, YES, its pretty similiar to Iphone/BlackBerry in the way that Android phones have the Android Market where you can download heaps of free/paid Android software. So you're better off with a data plan if you want access to the Android Market. Without a data plan, the alternative is to use WIFI-enabled internet access.

I managed to enabled Voice search on my Legend and it works great. I just installed Google Voice from Android Market. You can also make use of the VoiceToText capability together with HandCent SMS ( need to enabled under Speech settings); thereby allowing your HTC Legend to capture your voice message and translate it to text and then all you need to do is to press the [SEND] button to send off your SMS. Its not perfect, but works great for sending simple messages while you're driving (for instance).

It's true, since aluminium - and most metals for that matter - reflect radio signals, weakening its strength. That's why the Legend's radio antennas are built onto the plastic battery compartment cover. HTC recommends that you try not to cover the bottom cover with your palm to improve reception - a bit hard to do while holding the phone if you'd ask me.

Same here, but supposedly the latest OTA update suppose to have improved the wifi signal a bit. Last time my room no signal, but after update got very low signal.

Don't rule out the Legend just because it's aluminium-made! There's nothing wrong with the aluminium, it's just reception seems to be slightly weaker - not totally unusable. It varies from person to person but mine's usually only a bar weaker than other phones, if not the same. Call quality is superb, zero dropped calls so far. Wifi speed is fast as long as you're not 2-3 walls away from your wireless point.

By the way, the radio antennas I meant are Wifi and cellular network antennas. Not the FM radio antenna. laugh.gif Fellow Kuchingnite here. biggrin.gif

The signal drop, but you still can received call, just the quality is bad, further more, when there left only 1 bar of signal, the battery consume more, more energy expose out to auto increase the signal receiver, bad thing also come in for radioactive...
