Wow, everyone's rushing out to get Avatar... be it online or retail stores. Our local $peedo, VideoSleezy & Batu Selekoh must've been ca$hing in money right now; for those who can't wait.  nod.gif

There's an extra collector's card (the 7th piece) on some release from the local shop version (if you're lucky to receive one)... an exclusive limited-edition... I must say:

Not being anal or anything, but just wanted to point out a couple of things. The Asian releases of Avatars are Ironpacks. The UK version is the only one that is a Steelbook™. What's the difference? Ironpacks tend to be slightly inferior in their quality (if you're picky). Take a look at the Ironpack's spine and you'll notice the metal cutting is less refined, and even misaligned in some cases. The metal sheets are also thinner and feel less solid (soft). The Steelbook™ on the other hand are much better in quality and build. Just thought I'd share that.

That was lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 640kbps, which was already awesome as you mentioned.

Wait until you hear that same THX trailer in DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 24-bit lossless. It will shake your b*lls. To experience this, stay until right after end credits of AVATAR on blu-ray.

Yep, the Deep Note was pretty awesome!! Made my subwoofer scream like a little ecstatic girl. Bookmarked it.

Anyone updated their PS3 with the new 3.30 firmware??

Amongst the update it brings to the PS3 is the elusive BITSTREAM audio option for BluRay disc playback...

Anyone tried it yet??

Anyway, I'll pm u later on my decision
thx again bro for offering ur help notworthy.gif

I'm not in the rush to get the ironpack/steelbook version as I've already got my US normal version

Optical can pass HD audio. Just not 7.1, Optical cable maxes out at 5.1. HDMI is the only way to transfer 7.1 HD audio. But if you only have a 5.1 setup, an Optical cable will be able to carry all audio signals you equipment is capable of handling. Now obviously, HDMI is the best for both audio and video, but Optical will be fine for your acceptable sound blast.

Did you know that different region release of blu-ray most of the time has different quality of PQ and AQ? Especially speedy version when sometimes they have their own print. It's really irritating to see that you reply as though you know and have answer for everything - the matter of fact is that you don't. That is called spamming, even though it is not one liner, because not only your posts is misleading to forumers, it is not contributing anything to the forum. Next time, think first before replying, or at least google. Don't let your hands get the better of your brains. There's no point spamming 25 posts per day - for the sake of what? Larger e-penis?

I think before u bash people around, y dont u give the solution or the better answer 1st. I think this kind of post is irritating doh.gif to see rather than ideas.

It works as claimed.... my AVR shows DTS and Dolby Digital as opposed to showing PCM before the update.

Sound field, depth and details has improved slightly as the AVR is the one doing all the heavy lifting now...

Using PS3 Fat and HDMI.... finally my AVR shows the true sound codec and not just PCM.... rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif
