can I use iphone 3G using my notebook to surf the net ?

If you mean using your iphone's 3G as a modem/internet connection to surf from your laptop, yes you can.

Just connect your iPhone to your laptop and then enable Internet Tethering under settings on your iPhone.

yo guys i have a problem here with a i3Gs

i have a phone here now which doesn't even show any SMS preview at all when a SMS is received by the phone. The pop up screen on the lockscreen would not even appear. It will just do its notification tone and that is it, nothing at all no popup box on the lock screen, no text, nothing!!

Its abit of an inconvenience already as I have to slide to unlock into the springboard itself and click on the SMS application to view the sms.

when you enable your passcode, there is an option for ya to preview your sms text or not to preview your sms text right. I've already done that and nothing seems to fix this problem.

Anyone have any opinion on this?

I have an iPhone 2G running OS 3.1.2.

2 days ago, my cell internet broke. I cannot browse or access to any sites using mobile internet. I'm a Maxis Postpaid subscriber and I'm using EDGE.

Funny thing is... I can ping those sites which means I do have a connection. Check using SBSettings and I have a data ip.

But when I try to browse or use any internet app. I get a "Safari cannot open the page because the network connection was lost."

Any idea what's could be wrong?

When that happens to me, I just reboot the phone and then it'll work.

I muddled around with lockscreen previously for a bit few months ago. As I remember, there is a lockscreen setting that allows you to enable or disable the SMS preview box (I'm not sure if this is what you mentioned you already tried).

If that doesn't work, perhaps you could try removing the lockscreen package, and hopefully the settings will set back to default (and you get back the SMS preview box).

Have obviously tried that and no... same thing.

Applied the Maxis IPCC file and used unet or net... same thing...

Well do a hard reset lor factory restore I mean

Done that... didn't work...

Took my phone to Maxis TTDI today... turned out they had deactivated my Internet access, for no reason.

Anyway, working fine now.

Means uninstall the lockscreen package. You do know how to uninstall cydia packages right?

i bought 2nd hand iphone..then when i sync my iphone in itunes downloaded on my pc, it erase all the app installed before?does dis happens to all u guys?do i need to repurchase all the app??

guys, I'm using iphone 2G (yes, original 1st generation iphone) with OS3.1.2, jailbreak and unlocked.

Recently i've copied out the photos from my iphone "camera roll", saved in in my pc and restore it back to iphone into another photo folder (not upload back into "camera roll", so the camera roll now is empty). I then delete (including empty my recycle bin) the photos in my pc because i thought iphone will have the original size of my photo.

A few days later, when i want to take out those photo from my iphone, i notice that all the size of photos in my iphone were greatly reduced!!!!!! From 700kb reduce to less than 50kb!!!!

Does anybody know how to get back my original size photo from iphone? or recomend a fast and free recovery tools to recover those photos from my deleted recycle bin??

Of course, because those apps were not 'bought' under your account. And yes, you have to purchase or download free apps from the App Store of your choosing.
