Check your phone. Sometimes in certain places these tower have problem in handing over so suddenly you got lost of signal for long while and can't establish it back. You need to either put it in offline then online mode or switch it off then on. I noticed this happen to me in few same spot

Thanks for the suggestion..However the problem occurs everywhere I went... sweat.gif

Does it matter if it applies before or after the 200 mins?

What's the different if it matters?
*
I am not talking bout the calling rate, asking bout the sms. If SMS is 1 cent after the 200 SMS.
I will be glad cuz i SMS lots more than 200.

1)On a broadband/bandwidth/payment perspective
Digi does not charge for additional bandwidth utilized. It merely downgrades to edge ( 128kbps). So 1GB bandwidth is basically unlimited. Especially if you need teethering often( u know this can easily blow up once u teether with your mobile)

2) Maxis 10 is the same with Digi Friendlist(or watever u call that thing u can add 5-6 people and get cheaper calls)

3) I'm not sure Maxis has that free calls to supp lines also? If they do, then good coz digi has em.

The only reason why i choose digi is
1) 0.15 cents flat rate
2) No need to pay for each KB once u exceed your quota ( Usefull for teethering users like me)
3)Overall its cheaper than maxis package (Pay 88 Ringgit is cheaper than maxis 150 package) ( Free 200 mins call which useful)
however this is coming from a digi perspective and user of 8 years. My bonus points are also quite a lot which allows me to use 600 points to knock off 12 ringgit from my bill LOL

I understand if it is DIGI vs MAXIS.

But now my question is the bundled plan versus the normal plan.

Maxis has ivalue (bundled) vs idata plan.

Digi has idigi (bundled) vs normal plan.

For maxis, i go for idata plan as i explained. With the bundled, you are fix with certain call and sms, after that EXTRA charges. For normal plan, we can go for those rate like you mentioned and at the end you gets more with those friends and family like you said.

For Digi, most of my friends went to buy an iPhone and get the RM58 internet. So they have flexibility compare to bundled plans with fixed amount of call and sms. Like the guys posted there, he has to pay MORE. Like the example i calculated, if i sent 1500 sms, i have to pay more.

If we use the normal plan with all these friends and family and cheaper rate, we save more compare to these bundled where you constantly have to keep counting your call and sms. Try break them and see which one has more value. The sms and minutes that you didn't use are wasted, and then the sms and minutes you overused are EXTRA cost.

Why go for bundled plan? That is my question. Please enlighten me. I am not saying Digi or Maxis is better. Just asking bundled and normal plan comparison.

I chose maxis because

1. I got a few supplementary lines under me on Maxis. It will be too troublesome to port to Digi with all the supplementary lines.

2. Most of my contacts are on Maxis. Naturally, I will definitely save more with Maxis.

3. Coverage - This is what I heard from my friends who are on DiGi - Low coverage signal when they are inside a building.

4. I chose the Idata plan, just add RM50 per month for 12 months contract. Digi binds you to 2 or 3 years contract. In telco industry, a lot of things can change in 2 years, that includes the rate plans, phone offers, etc.

5. 500 MB of data is MORE than enough if I don't Youtube (only use about 20% of the data per month )

Oh forgot to add, since it's a 1 year contract, if I don't like Maxis, I can always choose to change to Digi after 1 year. So the 1 year contract really matters for me. You won't have this option when you are bound to 2 or 3 years.

Hi,

Digi contract is just 2 years, not 3..wink.gif
Anyway, everyone have their own reason for choosing a telco..so, it is really up to self preference.

How much did your friends bought the iPhones for without the bundled plan? One of the reasons people buy iPhones with plan is because it's more affordable that way (price of iPhone combined with plan price and divided into instalments).

If digi also offers subsidized iPhone with the RM58 plan will you get it. Ok you seems to be with digi find let's it on maxis then. Maxis ivalue and maxis idata, why ppl choose ivalue over idata?

If idigi against rm58 plan both same subsidized, which will you go for? Now they don't offer subsidizes other than bundled plan. I also throw same question to maxis user why get bundled plan?

hehe..Singapore telco is always cheaper than MY.
Their monthly commitment is cheaper.
For eg, Singtel, SGD 39 monthly (the cheapest plan)

3GS 16gb = $518 (RM1230++)
3GS 32 GB = $658 (RM1566++)

100 free mins, 500 sms and 12gb data
*
mmm how about incoming calls? do they charge for it? if not then it is cheaper la smile.gif

Those are the published rates in their website. They do have promotions drive from time to time. My friend got it for S$ 159 for Iphone 3GS and a 2 year contract with S$ 55 monthly commitment fee.

Our telco in Malaysia is really reaping us off! mad.gif vmad.gif mad.gif vmad.gif cry.gif

Hi soul2soul,

SGD 55 per month means is RM135 per month.
I think this consider as higher end package in Singapore.
Last time, my monthly commitment was only SGD12.60 per month.
So, SGD55 consider is a higher end plan in SG.
Likewise, if in MY, we took the higher end plan, the phone price also will be cheaper eg Idigi238 (iphone 16gb just RM390)

Anyway, the key point here is we cant compare between MY and SG. The standard and cost of living is very much different. the currency is already different...
Just to add here, i dont mean to side MY..is just that I'm still trying to get use to KL lifestyle as I just move back to KL from SG 2 months ago..
so, keep telling myself, not to compare..wink.gif
