Hi,
I think this is a common problem for some, but just want to see if there's any solution to it. And sorry I don't have time to go through all pages in this thread yet.
1) I'm using iPhone 3GS bought in Australia Unlocked. I'm using DiGi postpaid plan without 3G.
2) My iPhone EDGE/GPRS was disabled through iPhone settings and my charges for EDGE/GPRS has been RM0 before 14/06/10.
3) On the 14/06/10, I received a "Sim card updated settings" (sort of) message on my iPhone but I don't know what is it about.
3) After 14/06/10, the EDGE/GPRS keep running and I was charged a lot because of some background programs running.
4) I only realized it on the 20/06/10, immediately I called DiGi and disable my EDGE/GPRS.
5) I went to ask for a refund. They put my case to the billing department and an investigation was carried out.
6) They called me 03/07/10 saying they can't refund me because its iPhone's problem. They said usually for all other phones, user have to call up DiGi to activate MMS/GPRS/EDGE before they can use it. But for iPhone, it was done automatically. So its users fault for not knowing and not DiGi's problem.
7) My argument is DiGi must inform client when they will send an update to our iPhone and start charging us on stuff that we do not intend to use.
8) The customer service rep was polite and I know she can't do anything. So I request to talk to her manager. She said she will tell me manager to call me sometime next week.
Anybody encountered this problem and get a refund before?
Anyone got a high level contact in DiGi that can help me out?
Try finding Sweetpuff @DiGi Thread as he is the webbie master and somehow could help with your issues.
But trust me that DiGi is not reliable in solving your problem esp with billing.
My pal received poor service from the networking people when his phone kept receiving delayed sms and voice calls~
